This eight-party coalition includes MFP, Pheu Thai, Thai Sang Thai, Thai Liberal, Prachachat, Fair, Plung Sungkom Mai and Peu Thai Ruamphlang.
Together with the 152 seats won by the MFP, Mr. Pita’s planned eight-party coalition will have a total of 313 seats in the 500-seat House of Representatives. This number is enough for the MFP-led coalition to gain a majority in the House, but not enough to ensure Mr. Pita will be elected as Thailand’s 30th prime minister without the support of at least 376 votes in the National Assembly (including the House of Representatives and 250 senators in the Senate appointed by the military).
