Reporting on the project of exploring clay for cement raw materials in Dong Tam commune, Lac Thuy district, Hoa Binh province, Mr. Tran Minh Duc - Deputy General Director of Survey and Construction Joint Stock Company - USCO, the consulting unit, said that the exploration work aims to assess the quality and determine the industrial reserves of clay for cement production raw materials in the exploration area, as a basis for establishing an investment project to build an exploitation project and apply for a mining license to put the mine into operation in the near future to serve the Vissai Ha Nam cement factory.
The estimated result of the exploration of shale reserves is 5.954 million tons, which will meet nearly 60% of the raw material demand for the two factory lines. However, Mr. Tran Minh Duc said that during the exploration process, the composition and volume of the types of work need to be adjusted to suit the natural geological conditions of the mine.
Regarding the copper ore exploration project in Trinh Tuong area, Nam Chac commune and Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - Northeast Geological Federation (Vietnam Geological Department), the consulting unit said that the project aims to assess the reserves and quality to proceed to exploit and process copper ore locally. This is extremely necessary, contributing to creating a proactive position in basic metal materials for domestic production, while contributing to local economic development.
Regarding the marble exploration project in Chau Tien commune, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province, Mr. Nguyen Phi Hiep - 86 Vietnam Natural Resources and Environment Consulting Joint Stock Company, the consulting unit, said that the exploration methods and the volume of exploration work are designed to be suitable for the type of marble mineral with thick layered structure to blocks for tiling and calcium carbonate powder.
The project will evaluate the quality and reserves of marble at levels 121 and 122 of the exploration area on a total area of 23.6 hectares, with an estimated reserve of 5.058 million m3 of marble for tiling, 30.039 million tons of calcium carbonate powder and 17.497 million m3 of stone for common construction materials.
Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Quy Kien and members of the Council unanimously approved the project to explore clay for cement raw materials in Dong Tam commune, Lac Thuy district, Hoa Binh province. Regarding the project to explore copper ore in Trinh Tuong area, Nam Chac commune and Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province and the project to explore marble in Chau Tien commune, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province, the Deputy Minister requested investors and consultants to redesign the project, collect all data, select methods, and estimated workload that are feasible, thereby dividing the stages and implementation time appropriately.
