Vietnam had a dream start in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup with a 5-0 win over Laos. This was a perfect victory for the "Golden Star Warriors" against their neighboring team.

However, in the press conference after the match, coach Kim Sang-sik said he still had regrets.

“Today, many fans came to the stadium to cheer for the team, I thank everyone for this. The 5-0 victory is a gift for the fans. There was nothing bad about this match. The thing I regret the most is that I could not create opportunities for many players on the bench,” the Korean coach emphasized.

In this match, coach Kim Sang-sik arranged for young midfielder Vo Hoang Minh Khoa to play from the start and he left a strong impression.

Sharing about the player's performance, coach Kim Sang-sik said: "As the audience can see, Minh Khoa performed well in the midfielder role. He moved well. I made the right choice about Minh Khoa's position. He will do better in the next match."

As for coach Ha Hyeok Jun, he admitted that there is a huge difference in professional level between Laos and the Vietnamese team.

At the same time, the head coach of the Laos team was also very impressed with the way the red team played.

“First of all, I want to congratulate the Vietnamese team. We knew our opponents were strong in this match. Among the impressive players, I didn’t see any player leaving a distinct impression. I was impressed with the way you organized and deployed your tactics,” coach Ha Hyeok Jun said at the post-match press conference.

Despite the convincing defeat, coach Ha Hyeok Jun said he will continue to build the Laos team to help them shorten the professional level with the "big guys" of regional football, including the Vietnam team.
