This is the first time Vietnamese boxing has achieved such a positive result in a continental youth tournament, laying the foundation for future competitions with higher professional quality and helping managers have a more realistic view in focusing on investing in the key areas of this sport .

"The Vietnamese youth team competed with great determination and brought home a total of 18 medals of all kinds, including two women's championships. This reflects the athletes' professional ability and the preparation process of the coaching staff. The future of youth boxing will probably be brighter from this memorable milestone" - Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Boxing Federation, said at the reception of the team at Tan Son Nhat airport on the afternoon of May 25.

Coach Pham Thanh Hai excitedly shared: "Our coaching staff is satisfied with the results of the whole team, especially the female members such as Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran, Song Thi Kim Ngan (HCV), Ngo Thi Mai Chuc, Truong Ha Vy, Vu Thi Thom, Nguyen Thi Bich (HCB)... In the entire Southeast Asian region, only Thailand and Vietnam have boxers who made it to the finals and our two championships were truly beyond the team's expectations."

The fact that 6 female boxers made it to the finals and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tran and Song Thi Kim Ngan won gold medals once again confirms that the policy of investing in women's events is completely correct, as we have been doing very well with female boxers consecutively winning the right to participate in the last two Olympics.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, after the 2025 Asian Youth and Junior Championship (April) and the 2025 Asian Youth and U22 Championship (May), young boxers will continue to train to prepare for the National Youth Championship (July) and the National Championship (October).

The best players will be selected for the national team, ready to perform at the 33rd SEA Games taking place at the end of the year in Thailand.
