Candidates are most interested in converting admission scores

At the 2025 career counseling day held at the National Economics University on May 25, Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of the Training Management Department, National Economics University, said that in 2025, regardless of the method candidates register, the admission scores must be converted to the same 30-point scale.

Candidates with multiple characteristics such as having both an international English certificate IELTS and a score on the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test must be converted to a 30-point scale. When considering admission, the system will only use the highest score for consideration.

Regarding the equivalent conversion table, Dr. Le Anh Duc said that the Ministry of Education and Training only provides the conversion framework, and schools will use that as a basis and other data to build their own conversion table.

Mr. Duc also emphasized that equivalence here must be understood in the sense of equivalence in terms of academic ability, not equivalence in terms of numerical conversion, so there must be a basis and basis for giving the conversion coefficient. Candidates do not need to be too distracted by the conversion. Regardless of the equivalence conversion rule, candidates with good ability will certainly have more chances to be admitted to the school.

Answering questions from parents and candidates about the fact that the high school graduation exam is only scheduled for the end of June, but they have to register for school in early June without having their high school graduation exam scores, Mr. Duc said that such registration shows the candidates' wishes and desires to study at the National Economics University.

In addition, based on this registration, when the Ministry of Education and Training announces the scores on the system, the school will have the basis to get data on converting admission scores of different methods to a 30-point scale.

In 2025, the National Economics University will enroll 8,500 students, including 8,200 for regular university programs and 300 for regular university transfer programs.

The school is recruiting 73 admission codes (7 more than last year), corresponding to 89 training programs. Of which, there are 2 new majors, both taught in Vietnamese: International Commercial Law and Labor Relations.

The school uses 3 methods of direct admission , applying to students belonging to one of the following groups: Policy beneficiaries, directly admitted according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; third prize or higher in national excellent student competitions; first prize or higher in national science and technology competitions.

Considering the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam, 4 groups will be applied, including A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English), with no difference between the groups. The threshold to ensure input quality (floor score) with this method is 20 points.

Three combined admissions , for three groups of candidates: Group 1 are those with international SAT certificates from 1200/1600 or ACT 26/36 or higher.

Group 2 is for candidates with a minimum score of 85/150 HSA, 700/1200 APT or 60/100 TSA on the aptitude test. Candidates can apply based on their test results alone or in combination with an international English certificate such as IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL iBT 46 or higher.

Group 3 is candidates with an English certificate combined with a graduation exam score in Math and another subject, with certificate requirements similar to group 2.
