The match between the Vietnamese women's team and the Thai women's team was dramatic and tense from the very first minutes. In the 4th minute, Vietnam's goalkeeper Kim Thanh almost conceded an unexpected goal when a Thai player sent a very curved ball that hit the crossbar. Immediately after that, the Vietnamese girls had an answer. In the 11th minute, Bich Thuy had space to handle the ball but her shot went over the crossbar.

The following minutes saw the initiative of the Vietnamese women's team. In the 20th minute, Bich Thuy continued to have an uncomfortable cross into the penalty area, but Huynh Nhu could not create a touch to score. In the 28th minute, Bich Thuy had a chance to face the goalkeeper but lacked the strength to finish.

The efforts of the Vietnamese women's team were finally rewarded in the 36th minute. Huynh Nhu handled the ball with class with skillful dribbling and precise crosses into the penalty area. Thu Thao took advantage of the opportunity with a one-touch shot to score, opening the score 1-0 for the Vietnamese women's team. The first half ended with the home team in the lead.

In the second half, coach Mai Duc Chung instructed his players to slow down and control the ball to preserve their advantage. The match ended with a 1-0 victory for the Vietnamese women's team, an important result in the confrontation with their fateful opponent.

This victory helped the Vietnamese women's team enter the semi-finals of the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship with the top spot in Group A with a record of 3 wins and no goals conceded. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team's opponent in the semi-finals will be the second team in Group B.
