Following the devastating floods at the end of last year, dragon fruit growing areas in Lam Dong province are now entering the off-season under relatively favorable weather conditions. Notably, the consistently high price of dragon fruit, the highest in about 10 years, has brought joy to many farmers, partially compensating for the losses caused by the previous natural disasters.
During the peak of the off-season harvest, the dragon fruit orchard of Ms. Nguyen Linh Trang's family (Tan Thanh Commune, Lam Dong Province) is being purchased by traders at prices ranging from 25,000 to 28,000 VND per kilogram. With approximately 400 trees and a yield of nearly 5 tons, after deducting expenses, the family earned a profit of nearly 100 million VND - the highest profit in many years.

Following the year-end floods, off-season dragon fruit in Lam Dong province is entering harvest season with record high prices.
The year-end floods submerged many dragon fruit orchards in low-lying areas, leading to a decrease in supply. However, this also presented an opportunity for orchards still capable of producing to sell at higher prices. Coupled with the surge in demand leading up to the Lunar New Year, the price of off-season dragon fruit has therefore consistently remained high.
Forecasts indicate that dragon fruit orchards will be harvested simultaneously in the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, resulting in higher yields. This is considered a positive sign for dragon fruit growers in the first crop season of 2026.
Lam Dong province currently has 106 dragon fruit growing area codes, covering more than 14,000 hectares for export. Maintaining and expanding production according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards is opening up a sustainable path, helping local dragon fruit better access official export markets.
