No more traffic jams in front of the school gate?
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires schools to proactively open their doors to welcome students from 6:30 a.m. and also requires schools not to let students arrive late or leave early to gather in front of the school gates. The main goal is to ensure smooth traffic, especially during rush hours.
The Department's leaders also requested that schools build flexible timetables but still adhere to the prescribed time frame to ensure the health of students and workers.
It is known that the Department also assigned the People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to monitor, inspect, and strictly handle violating units. The Department's Office and related departments will also coordinate to monitor and report the situation.
This new regulation is attracting great attention from the public, especially parents of students. Is this an effective solution to the problem of traffic congestion and student health in one of the largest cities in the country?
