After choosing to buy cakes, dried goods, vegetables, tubers, and fruits at Co.opmart Soc Trang Supermarket, Ms. Thuan (Soc Trang city) pushed her cart to the counter for the staff to calculate the total amount of nearly 1 million VND and she chose to pay by scanning the code. According to Ms. Thuan, she often uses cashless payment when shopping at supermarkets, stores, or places that accept money transfers and QR code scanning. "No need to carry cash, just need a smartphone with internet connection. Very convenient, useful and fast," Ms. Thuan shared.
Despite her advanced age, in recent years, Ms. Khanh (Soc Trang city) has been paying by bank card via POS machine every time she shops at the supermarket. Ms. Khanh said: “Every month, my pension is paid via bank card, so I always use this card to pay when shopping. Because he often shops on e-commerce channels, Mr. Kha chooses to transfer money in advance to organizations, businesses or when the shipper arrives to deliver the goods. According to Mr. Kha, cashless payment is very fast, convenient and easy to use.
Not only do customers find it convenient, but shippers also like customers who pay without cash. According to Mr. Phuc, he delivers about 50-70 orders every day, especially during holidays and Tet, orders double, there are high-value orders so the amount of money he has to receive is very large. Therefore, when customers choose to transfer money, he is very happy because he does not have to worry about keeping or losing money when delivering goods. Mr. Phuc said that currently, most of the orders he delivers have about 50% of customers choosing to transfer money instead of paying in cash.
Currently, cashless payment methods are not only preferred by consumers but also highly supported by organizations and businesses, proactively coordinating with relevant agencies and units to diversify different payment methods to meet customer needs. A representative of Co.opmart Soc Trang Supermarket said that most of the popular modern cashless payment methods on the market are available at the supermarket such as: technology applications, payment by QR code, electronic payment wallets (ZaloPay, MoMo, VNPAY, Viettel Pay...)... At the same time, deploying safe and secure solutions in online payment and bank card payment, commercial banks in the province support opening, updating, changing customer information, deploying the application of electronic chips attached to citizen identification cards and VNeID application in identification to authenticate customer information; incentives when customers open payment accounts by electronic methods (eKYC).
