On April 20, Dong Nai Chairman Cao Tien Dung signed a decision to inspect projects and procurement packages for assets and equipment provided by Tien Bo International Joint Stock Company (AIC) and its member units to agencies and units in Dong Nai province in 11 years (from 2011 to 2021). If necessary, it can be considered before and after the above period.
According to the content of the decision, the People's Committee decided to assign Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha - Deputy Chief Inspector of Dong Nai province - as head of the inspection team.
The Provincial Inspection Team will inspect the bidding packages provided by AIC at 7 departments and branches in the province and related organizations and individuals, including: Department of Health, Department of Education and Training, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Department of Science and Technology, Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, Provincial Agricultural Service Center (under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development).
The inspection period is 70 working days, excluding holidays and public holidays as prescribed.
Previously, AIC had provided many bidding packages and purchased equipment for Dong Nai General Hospital. In 2022, the Ministry of Public Security investigated and prosecuted the case of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences" occurring at the Dong Nai General Hospital construction investment project.
The police have arrested many officials, including former Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee Tran Dinh Thanh; former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai; former Director of the Department of Health Phan Huy Anh Vu; and former Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Bo Ngoc Thu for accepting bribes.
Recently, the above former officials were brought to trial and sentenced to prison.
