Over 300 delegates from nearly 30 agencies, organizations, enterprises and more than 50 central and local press agencies will discuss important contents at the National Scientific Conference with the theme "Cyber Security and Cryptography in National Security" organized by the Government Cipher Committee in coordination with the Central Council of Theory and the Academy of Journalism and Propaganda on June 15, 2023 in Hanoi .
The workshop is a forum for leaders, experts, scientists and organizations to exchange and discuss in order to clarify a number of theoretical and practical issues on cyber security, cryptography and non-traditional security management, focusing on cyber security in national security. The workshop also clarifies the viewpoints, guidelines and policies of the Party and State as well as the political and legal basis to ensure national sovereignty in cyberspace, assess the current situation of the problem, thereby advising and proposing specific policies and solutions to develop human resources for cyber security and cryptography as well as focus resources on cyber security management; propose and recommend mechanisms and policies on culture, soft power in cyber security, cryptography, national defense and security policies, contributing to the development of the Documents of the 14th National Party Congress.

The workshop was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan - Former member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Dr. Nguyen Huu Hung - Deputy Head of the Government Cipher Committee and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang - Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication, Head of Project KX04-32/21-25.
There were about 8 main contents presented and discussed at the Workshop, including: "Ensuring ideological security in the current cyberspace environment"; "Current state of cyber security governance in Vietnam and issues arising in the process of cyber security governance"; "Cryptography in national security"; "International and regional cooperation in preventing, responding to, and resolving non-traditional security threats, focusing on cyber security"; "Some issues arising in protecting the Fatherland in cyberspace"; "Trends of cyber attacks and solutions"; "Ensuring cyber security for data centers"; "Forecasting the situation and factors affecting the prevention and response to cyber security risks in the coming time"...
The workshop is a national task, under the State-level scientific topic: "Non-traditional security issues, focusing on cyber security in national security", code KX.04.32/21-25, under the Political Theory Science Research Program for the period 2021-2025 of the Central Theoretical Council, chaired by the Academy of Journalism and Communication, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication is the project manager.
Sharing about the National Scientific Conference, Dr. Nguyen Huu Hung - Deputy Head of the Government Cipher Committee said: "The conference plays an important role in identifying and clarifying theoretical and practical issues on cyber security and cryptography, non-traditional security management, focusing on cyber security management in national security. With cyberspace considered a "special territory", security, cyber security and information security using cryptographic techniques will increasingly affirm their role in protecting sovereignty, developing the economy, maintaining political and social stability of countries. The opinions discussed in the conference are important for the development of the 14th National Party Congress Document on non-traditional security management, focusing on cyber security in national security in Vietnam".
