Previously, Ms. Lien invested in growing coffee. Over time, the coffee trees became old, the productivity and quality were low, so she demolished the coffee garden to change production direction. Realizing that there were many economic models in the locality that invested systematically, applied scientific advances, so the output and quality of products were higher, bringing a stable source of income, Ms. Lien determined to spend time learning from experience, choosing suitable crops and livestock to put into production.

To increase her family's income, for about 10 years now, she has invested in building high, windproof barns to raise sows and pigs for meat. The pig breeding source is self-sufficient, so she can take the initiative in breeding. Thanks to applying the right farming techniques, especially the way to care for, prevent diseases, vaccinate pigs, and clean the barn properly, her family's pig herd has developed well. Every year, she sells 3-4 batches of pigs for meat, each batch has a few dozen pigs.

Besides raising pigs, on an area of about 3 sao of land, Ms. Lien flexibly changes the planting of seasonal crops such as mustard greens, coriander, amaranth, cucumbers... Thanks to that, her vegetable garden has products to sell all year round.

She uses composted manure from livestock to fertilize her plants, and water from a stream running near her garden to water her plants, so the plants are always lush and healthy, ensuring food safety. Every day, she harvests vegetables and sells them for 300,000 - 500,000 VND. Thanks to her diligence, creativity, and boldness in changing production, on average, each year, her family's total revenue from the economic model is more than 200 million VND, after deducting expenses, the profit is more than 100 million VND.

Ms. Lien shared: “Over the time of taking care of the transformation of crop and livestock structure, I realized that not only relying on available natural conditions but also knowing how to apply advanced production processes, changing thinking and production methods will increase economic efficiency and improve family life. In the coming time, besides maintaining the family economic model, I will add some livestock and crops with high economic value into production, increasing family income”.

President of the Women's Union of Khe Sanh town Bui Thi Phuong said: "Ms. Lien is an exemplary member in economic development, actively participating in activities and emulation movements in Block 5 in particular and Khe Sanh town in general.

In the coming time, the association will continue to promote and replicate typical examples like Ms. Lien. At the same time, it will seek preferential loan sources to create conditions for women to develop their economy and build a prosperous and happy family. Continue to coordinate to open training courses on cultivation and animal husbandry techniques to improve production efficiency for local women."

After many years of hard work and saving, Lien’s family has built a spacious house and invested in their children’s education. She and her husband also know how to keep the family “fire” warm, everything is discussed and agreed upon so they are always in harmony, the children are obedient, respectful and give way to their juniors.

Ms. Lien also actively participates in movements and activities initiated by women and the locality; always shows solidarity, ready to help other women in difficult circumstances to escape poverty together. For many years, her family has achieved the title of cultural family.
