Following the launch of the Galaxy S25 Ultra with its significant design changes, Samsung is likely to go even further with the S26 by introducing a strongly curved design.
Previously, models like the Galaxy S22 Ultra and S23 Ultra were criticized for their square design and sharp edges, making them uncomfortable to hold. Many users reported feeling uncomfortable when using them with one hand or when putting them in their pockets. With the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the South Korean tech giant partially addressed this issue by switching to rounded corners, resulting in a more ergonomic experience.
According to leaked information, the Galaxy S26 Ultra may feature even more rounded edges, almost double that of its predecessor. This change not only provides a more natural grip but also complements the new design, creating a sleeker and more seamless look than previous generations.
Although it's still at least 5 months away from its launch, much information has already been revealed about the specifications of the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The device is expected to retain the 5,000 mAh battery, possibly supporting 60W fast charging.
Regarding the camera, Samsung appears to continue using the HP2 main sensor with a 200MP resolution, but increases the aperture from f/1.7 on the Galaxy S25 Ultra to f/1.4. The larger aperture allows for more light capture, promising improved low-light photography capabilities. Additionally, the 10MP 3x telephoto camera is likely to be upgraded to 50MP, providing greater detail for zoomed images.
Another noteworthy point is the rumor that Samsung will equip its devices with a new OLED panel called "Flex Magic Pixel." This technology will integrate AI to enhance privacy, restricting others from seeing the content displayed on the screen without permission.
Compared to most high-end Android smartphones today, which have long featured rounded designs to optimize user experience, Samsung is gradually shifting its Ultra series towards a consistent design language. This continued refinement of the device's shape not only offers ergonomic advantages but also creates synergy between premium features and the user experience.
If the leaks are accurate, the Galaxy S26 Ultra won't offer a significant leap in hardware, but will focus on practical improvements.
