Teacher donated blood 35 times

DTO - Teacher Nguyen Tan Dung (born in 1969) - teacher at Vinh Thoi 2 Primary School (Phong Hoa commune) is a typical example in the voluntary blood donation movement, with 35 times of donating blood to save lives.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung shared that voluntary blood donation is a meaningful thing in life.

Regarding the reason for being involved in this meaningful humanitarian activity, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung said: “The first time I donated blood was in 2007. At that time, I simply thought that if I was healthy, I should share it with those who needed blood. After that time, I found that donating blood was really meaningful, so I continued to participate regularly every year. I hope that more and more people will understand this correctly and be willing to participate, because saving lives is not a private matter.”

With his enthusiasm, for over 15 years, Mr. Dung has always been at the forefront of the voluntary blood donation movement. Despite being busy with family work, teaching and mass movements, he still arranges time to participate in blood donation campaigns in many places in the province. There are years when Mr. Dung donates 2-3 times, each time following the instructions on health and the interval between blood donations. After each donation, he feels very happy.

Not only actively donating blood, Mr. Dung also propagates and mobilizes relatives, friends, union members, and youth in the commune to participate in donating blood to save lives. From the touching stories he shares, many people have changed their minds and voluntarily participated in voluntary blood donation. To date, Mr. Dung has donated blood more than 35 times with a total blood volume of more than 10,500ml.

Mr. Dung shared: “I will continue to participate in voluntary blood donation, because each drop of blood donated means another life. It is a meaningful and practical work, bringing faith and hope for life to the less fortunate. The drops of blood donated by each volunteer are the immense love of humanity, contributing to making life more meaningful...”.

With his noble gesture, in 2018 and 2019, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement; the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society awarded a Certificate of Merit for his outstanding achievements in voluntary blood donation in 2022 and 2023...
