A clip recording the image of a teacher crossing a landslide and muddy road to return to school caused a stir on social networks on November 20.
In the widely shared clip, viewers were moved when witnessing the image of a teacher, one hand carrying sandals, the other hand tightly holding a bouquet of flowers, carefully crossing a slippery, muddy mountain road with red mud up to his knees.

All around him was a scene of jagged rocks and soil caused by landslides. Behind him was another colleague, his raincoat covered in dirt, also trying to overcome this challenging stretch of road.
The clip has received many comments and shares, with many people expressing their emotion and admiration for the difficulties and hardships that teachers in the highlands have to face, especially during the flood season.
The teacher in the clip is Mr. Nguyen Tran Vy, Principal of Ngoc Linh Primary Boarding School, Tra Linh Commune, Da Nang City.
According to teacher Vy, the clip was recorded by a person accompanying him on the day he returned to school after attending the Prime Minister's meeting with outstanding teachers on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day in Hanoi a few days ago.
When returning to the locality, heavy rains caused serious landslides on the roads, causing mud to reach knee-deep. Mr. Vy said that the distance of about 130km from Tam Ky ward (Da Nang city) to the school usually only takes a few hours, but that day it took nearly 7 hours to get there.

The trip started by bus, but when they encountered the first landslide, the teacher and everyone had to get off and walk. Then, the teacher continued on his motorbike and encountered the second landslide, forcing him to walk for another 30 minutes before he could continue his journey by motorbike to get to school.
"Even though I'm used to the mountains and forests, it's still a bit scary when it rains and there are landslides everywhere," Mr. Vy confided.
Despite his tired legs after many hours of walking through landslides, mud and jagged rocks, Mr. Vy still hugged the bouquet of flowers tightly. This was a gift he had prepared to give to his colleagues on November 20th.
Having worked with students in the highlands for many years, Mr. Vy understands the hardships and silent sacrifices of his colleagues, who still overcome difficulties every day to bring letters to children in the highlands.
"On this holiday, I just hope to bring a little joy to everyone in the school. The simplest happiness of the teachers here is that the students come to class regularly every day," Mr. Vy confided.
