On the afternoon of November 20, representatives of Tuoi Tre newspaper went to the Ministry of Education and Training to donate 2 billion VND from the support of Tuoi Tre newspaper readers to teachers in the Central region to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.
Sharing at the meeting, Ms. Do Thi Ngoc Ha - Head of the Tuoi Tre Newspaper Representative Office in Hanoi - said that this year's Vietnamese Teachers' Day took place in a rather special context, when many places were suffering heavy impacts from storms and floods.
Besides the teachers who are having a fulfilling November 20th, in the Central region, there are many teachers who are still fighting floods, taking care of their families, schools, and students.
Not only are teachers worried about the terrible days of flood and rain, but after the flood, they are also worried about how to quickly welcome students back to school and how to ensure their studies are not interrupted.
Based on the above reality, Tuoi Tre newspaper wishes to send 2 billion VND to teachers in the Central region through the Ministry of Education and Training to help them overcome the consequences of storms and floods, and to share with the education sector.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Tan Dung said that the current storm and flood situation in the Central region is very severe, people are struggling with storms and floods. Many houses are flooded up to the roof, isolated. Relief work and evacuation of people from dangerous areas are being focused on.
In the general context, the education sector has also been greatly affected, including teachers and students. The Ministry has also sent a telegram to localities requesting them to ensure the safety of teachers and students in flood-affected areas.
According to Mr. Dung, recently the education sector has also received support from many units across the country. The Minister has also directed timely support for localities affected by natural disasters and floods.
