One winter morning in Nam So commune, the cold had crept into the mountains and forests. Before dawn, teachers at the kindergartens had already gone to class, preparing for a new day of learning for the children. At 6 a.m. at Ngam Ca school, lights from two classrooms shone out through the thick fog. Ms. Lo Thi Hoa (4-5 year old kindergarten teacher) has been teaching at the school for 13 years. Her class has more than 20 children, all of whom are ethnic minorities.

Teachers at Ngam Ca school (Nam So Kindergarten) are always dedicated and devoted to their students.
With the heart of the teaching profession, Ms. Hoa and 4 teachers who are staying in the village in Ngam Ca are not only the teachers who take the lead in motivating students to go to class, but also proactively research and find good lessons, flexibly applying methods suitable to real conditions. In particular, STEM/STEAM education is effectively implemented by the teachers with the most familiar things: planting trees in the classroom, experimenting with water and light or creating toys from recycled materials. All are aimed at arousing curiosity, developing observation skills and exploratory thinking of children in the highlands.
Nam So Kindergarten currently has 1 central school and 11 village schools with 44 teachers. The teachers' journey to class every day is a long, winding road with sun, wind, clouds, and steep slopes. With their love for the profession and children, they have been teaching the children of the highlands their first lessons - valuable provisions for the future.

Highland children enjoy recycled toys made by teachers and parents in Nam So commune.
Sharing about these efforts, teacher Tran Thi Thu - Principal of Nam So Kindergarten emotionally said: "Kindergarten teachers in the highlands are not only teachers of children but also like second mothers. No matter how hard it is, we still persevere to create a safe, loving and respectful learning environment. Seeing the children happily come to class every day is the biggest motivation for each teacher to continue to try."
In Muong Khoa, besides the favorable village schools, there are still many schools with difficulties and shortages in all aspects. In a conversation with us, teacher Tran Thi Thu Hoai - Vice Principal of the school shared that the Ho Tra village school is the most remote and difficult. The teachers who teach here have to "stay in the village" almost all week, because the road to the school is steep, has many dangerous curves and is extremely slippery. The worst is on rainy days, the soil and rocks are so muddy that not only the wheels but also the teachers' bodies are covered with mud. There are days when the fog is so thick that you can only see your hands in front of your face, but they still persevere, because "the children wait for them every day".
Despite the difficulties, the teachers still stick to the school, stick to the village, and maintain class size. The image of the preschool teachers here gently wiping the faces, training eating and sleeping habits for the children in the highlands, we admire their love for the profession even more. Not only overcoming difficulties to go to class, the preschool teachers in Muong Khoa also tirelessly create to bring students the best possible learning environment. The school does not have a library, but the teachers take advantage of every minute of their free time to diligently draw pictures, decorate study corners, design tools by themselves, build small bookshelves out of wood and cardboard boxes, and then collect good books to create a creative library for the children to read and explore . The library corners are simple but contain the love for the profession and children of the teaching staff here.

In their spare time, the teachers design their own learning tools and toys for the children.
Not only in Nam So, Muong Khoa, in the province there are countless preschools with difficulties in facilities. In such circumstances, the preschool teachers are always a silent but steadfast force in the education career in Lai Chau land. With passion for the profession, love for children, taking care of every meal and sleep for students, they have made an important contribution to improving the quality of education in the province, creating a solid foundation for the "green buds" to grow up more confidently, healthily and fully.
The simple but warm stories in Lai Chau land have shown that behind the innocent smiles of children are the dedication, responsibility and silent sacrifice of those who "sow letters" in the great forest. They are the most beautiful flowers in the gratitude season of November.
