Breakthrough with overnight mooring service

Recently, the activity of welcoming international passenger ships at Cam Ranh International Port has been very vibrant. From October 2024 to now, the port has welcomed 23 international passenger ships, serving nearly 50,000 crew members and passengers. In particular, Cam Ranh International Port has affirmed its capacity to receive large and luxury cruise ships such as Spectrum of the Seas - the largest superyacht in Asia; simultaneously receiving two luxury cruise ships, Norwegian Spirit and Seven Seas Explorer. According to Colonel Nguyen Tuan Anh - Chairman of the Board of Members of Tan Cang - Petro Cam Ranh Company Limited, the safe reception of these ships has demonstrated the modern exploitation capacity of Cam Ranh International Port, creating a premise for welcoming larger ships in the future; demonstrating the professional management and coordination capacity of the port and functional agencies; affirming the attractiveness of Cam Ranh International Port to the luxury tourist segment".

Norwegian Spirit and Seven Seas Explorer both docked at Cam Ranh International Port on February 14, 2025.

Most recently, the Piano Land ship docked and anchored overnight at Cam Ranh International Port (from 12:00 on November 11 to 15:00 on November 12). This is the first ship to anchor overnight at Cam Ranh International Port as well as Khanh Hoa province ever. “The ship anchoring overnight not only helps increase the time for sightseeing and experience of passengers but also contributes to improving the quality and diversifying tourism products, especially night tourism in Khanh Hoa. Thereby, enhancing the position of Khanh Hoa tourism on the world sea tourism map”, said Mr. Cung Quynh Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The perfect destination for passengers

The outstanding advantage of Cam Ranh International Port is that ships dock directly at the wharf. This completely eliminates the risk and inconvenience of using tender boats to transfer passengers - a key factor, especially important for 5-star cruise ships when arriving at the port in unfavorable weather conditions. "Most cruise tourists are middle-aged and elderly. Direct docking at the wharf has ensured that passengers can get on and off the ship quickly, safely and conveniently for all subjects, especially for elderly passengers or those with difficulty moving (children, wheelchair users)", said Mr. Bui Minh Thang - Director of Phuong Thang Trading and Tourism Company Limited. During the past time, the port has organized the ship reception activities carefully, safely, and on schedule 100%, without any delays or cancellations. Passengers get on and off the ship safely and quickly, even in bad weather conditions, so they are highly appreciated by shipping lines and passengers.

In addition, the port also ensures medical safety and fire prevention and fighting at the highest level. Ambulances and fire trucks are always on duty at the wharf area during the entire time the ship is at the port. This allows the port to be ready to handle emergency situations and quickly pick up and drop off passengers and sailors with health problems to hospitals, ensuring the "golden time" for emergency treatment. This is highly appreciated by customers, crew members and shipping agents.

Lieutenant Colonel Dang Anh Diep - Director of Tan Cang - Petro Cam Ranh Company Limited said: Cam Ranh International Port is aiming to become a center for receiving international cruise ships, making a strong contribution to the development of sea and island tourism and the economy of Khanh Hoa province. To prepare for this period of strong growth, the company has coordinated with the authorities to complete the clearance of aquaculture cages on the access route to Cam Ranh International Port; deploying electronic procedures for entry and exit permits to shorten the time for processing documents. At the same time, the company is connecting with resorts in Bai Dai and neighboring areas to diversify the experience for cruise ship tourists.

Since 2016, the port has received a total of 42 cruise ships, serving nearly 100,000 passengers and crew members. According to information from shipping lines, from the end of 2025 to 2027, many large, modern international cruise ships in the world have registered to call at Cam Ranh International Port.
