On November 20, after about a month of physical training and technical tactics for the Vietnamese women's team in Hanoi and Phu Tho, head coach Mai Duc Chung and his colleagues decided to remove 5 students including Le Thi Thu, Luu Hoang Van, Ta Thi Hong Minh, Nguyen Thi Van (injured) and Tran Nhat Lan.
The Vietnamese women's team will be supplemented with 6 more players from the Ho Chi Minh City women's club, to go to Japan for training with a total of 26 players.
The 6 additional reinforcements include Quach Thu Em, Cu Thi Huynh Nhu, Huynh Nhu, Tran Thi Thu Thao, Nguyen Thi Kim Yen and Tran Thi Kim Thanh. They have just won tickets to the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League Women's 2025 - 2026 with the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club.
Tonight, November 20, the main group of the Vietnamese women's team and the additional group will move from Phu Tho and Ho Chi Minh City to Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) to gather, before departing on the 1:35 a.m. flight on November 21 to Nagoya (Japan).
In Japan, the Vietnamese women's team will practice from November 21 to November 30, playing three friendly matches with university teams so that the coaching staff can monitor their performance.
After completing the training program, the team will return to Ho Chi Minh City on November 30, before leaving for Thailand on December 2 to attend the 33rd SEA Games.
