On August 5, speaking with Giao thong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, General Director of Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company (project enterprise) said: After nearly 1 week of active construction, yesterday afternoon (August 4), the contractor completed pouring concrete for the automatic non-stop toll island at Km 430+500 Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway. It is expected that in about 1 week, after the concrete has hardened enough, we will remove the barrier so that vehicles can circulate normally.
The automatic toll collection island at the end of the route (from South to North) of Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway has been completed.
During this period, vehicles must still comply with temporary speed signs such as: narrow road, no overtaking, maximum speed of 70km/h and 50km/h. After that, these signs will be removed, replaced by signs notifying non-stop toll stations and deceleration lane markings.
The construction of the toll island at the non-stop toll station on the Dien Chau - Bai Vot highway was rushed by the contractor and completed on August 4.
"In addition, because the lighting system and toll collection system have not been installed, we have directed the contractor to paint the toll islands with reflective paint and install additional warning flashing lights for drivers to easily recognize. When conditions are met and the competent state agency permits, we will proceed with non-stop toll collection to serve the project's capital recovery in accordance with the signed contract," said Mr. Viet.
Signs and warning systems are placed remotely to ensure traffic safety.
As previously reported by Giao Thong Newspaper, on July 25, Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company (project enterprise) sent a document to the Ministry of Transport , Project Management Board 6 and related parties regarding the implementation of the construction of the Toll Station at Km 430+500, Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway.
Concrete in the traffic lane is advised to be drilled for samples for testing and quality assessment.
At the same time, handle the temporary low-grade concrete pouring locations that are peeling off while waiting for the island to be built to ensure smooth traffic.
According to the plan, the construction of the toll island was expected to take longer but would be completed before August 2, 2024. However, due to the continuous heavy rain in the area, the construction took 2 days longer than expected.
Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway is one of 11 component projects of the North - South Eastern Expressway Project Phase I (2017-2020) and is one of 3 component projects invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
The project has a total length of more than 50km, passing through two provinces: Nghe An (44.4km) and Ha Tinh (4.9km), with a total investment of VND 11,157 billion.
The investor is a consortium of 5 enterprises including: Hoa Hiep Company Limited, CIENCO4 Group, Nui Hong Company Limited, Truong Son Construction Corporation, VINA 2 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company. The project enterprise is Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company.
The project started in May 2021 and the first 30km of the route (from the QL7A intersection to the QL46B intersection, in Nghe An province) was opened to traffic on April 30, 2024. The remaining 19km (from the QL46B intersection to the QL8A intersection) was opened to traffic on June 30, 2024.
