Case 2: Candidates have an accident, fall ill or have a special emergency after taking at least one exam and cannot continue taking the exam, or after having an accident, falling ill or having a special emergency, voluntarily take the remaining exams.

The specific conditions for special treatment are as follows:

Qualified to take the exam, with scores of all exams taken to be considered for high school graduation recognition all reaching 5 points or higher.
The training results for the whole year of grade 12 are assessed as good or better and the learning results are assessed as satisfactory or better.
The special consideration documents include: The candidate's application for special consideration; hospital admission and discharge records from a hospital at district level or higher (if there is an accident or illness) or confirmation from the People's Committee of the commune where the candidate resides (if there is a special emergency) and documents proving the results of training and studying in grade 12.

Case 3: Athletes who meet the conditions are considered for special high school graduation according to regulations.

The specific conditions for special treatment are as follows:

Qualify for the competition; achieve excellent results in national or international sports competitions.
The time to organize the high school graduation exam coincides with the time when athletes train abroad or compete in international sports tournaments.
The application for special consideration includes: The candidate's application for special consideration; evidence of excellent achievements in national or international sports competitions; evidence that the time of the high school graduation exam coincides with the time the athlete is training abroad or participating in international sports competitions.

Candidates should note that no later than 7 days after the last exam session of the exam, they must submit their application for special treatment to the principal of the unit where they registered to take the exam. The principal of the unit where the candidate registered to take the exam is responsible for receiving and transferring the application to the Department of Education and Training.

Within 30 days from the end of the final exam session, the high school graduation recognition council will review and decide on special exceptions for candidates based on their records and regulations.

This year's high school graduation exam took place over two days, June 26-27. According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training , a total of more than 1.16 million candidates registered for the high school graduation exam (an increase of 93,894 registrations compared to last year). Of which, 42,782 were independent candidates (accounting for 3.67%).
Candidates taking the graduation exam for the first time under the new general education program must take four exams, including Math and Literature. In addition, candidates must choose two subjects they have studied at school (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law, Information Technology, Technology and Foreign Language).
High school graduation exam scores for 2025 were announced on July 16.
