The development comes as investors are analyzing US President Donald Trump's visit to Japan, ahead of important talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping scheduled to take place this weekend.

In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index fell 0.6% to close at 50,219.18 points. In Hong Kong (China), the Hang Seng index fell 0.3% to close at 26,346.14 points. In Shanghai, the Composite index fell slightly by 0.2% to close at 3,988.22 points. The Taipei (China) and Sydney stock markets also fell, while Seoul recovered.

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinping on October 30 in South Korea, and positive comments from Trump have raised hopes that the world's two largest economies can reach a deal to ease their trade war. Investors are also looking ahead to earnings reports from tech giants like Microsoft and Meta this week.

US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi signed a framework agreement on securing rare earth supplies on October 28.

At the end of the trading session on October 28, VN-Index increased 27.96 points (1.69%) to 1,680.5 points, HNX-Index increased 1.42 points (0.54%) to 266.78 points.
