A report from the Employment Service Center (ESC) of Binh Duong province shows the vibrancy of consulting, job connection and labor transaction organization activities. However, the figures also clearly reflect a number of shortcomings that need to be promptly resolved to ensure the stable and sustainable development of the local labor market.
According to the April 2025 report, the total recruitment demand reached 14,190 targets, of which the unskilled labor group accounted for 12,956 positions - equivalent to 91% of the total labor force. The number of female labor recruitment (9,300 people) was higher than that of male labor (3,656 people), reflecting the specific characteristics of industries in Binh Duong such as: garment, electronics, food processing... often prioritize recruiting women.
Although the group of skilled workers reached more than 1,200 positions, the proportion is still quite low, showing that the market has not really shifted towards attracting high-quality human resources.
The total number of people who received job counseling and referrals in the month was 15,219, of whom 3,849 were employed, achieving an efficiency of more than 25%. Notably, the group of workers receiving unemployment insurance was actively supported by the center with 1,164 people re-entering the labor market, contributing to reducing social security pressure. However, the success rate in job referrals still depends largely on the match between the requirements of businesses and the capacity of workers. This issue continues to be a central challenge in managing local labor supply and demand.
During the month, the Provincial Employment Service Center organized 5 job fairs, both online and in person, attracting 1,488 businesses to participate, of which 235 businesses participated online. This is a step forward in digitizing labor connection activities, in line with the digital transformation trend and the need to reduce labor costs of businesses. According to records, job fairs in April in Binh Duong attracted thousands of workers, especially young people, students and ordinary workers looking for job opportunities in VSIP, Song Than, My Phuoc industrial parks, etc.
In addition to recruitment connection activities, the Provincial Employment Service Center organized 10 job search skills consultation sessions, helping workers with career orientation and updating new labor and insurance policies. In addition, a labor market analysis and forecast was also deployed, playing an important role in supporting macro policy planning and regulating labor supply and demand in the province.
However, April also recorded a limitation when the number of workers meeting the requirements of enterprises was still not enough despite the strong implementation of consulting work. This situation reflects three issues: Lack of professional skills of workers compared to actual requirements; difference in expectations of salary - working conditions between the two sides; labor migration to neighboring areas such as Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, especially among young workers.
With the participation of more than 1,400 enterprises and nearly 15,000 workers in the month, it can be seen that Binh Duong is maintaining a vibrant labor market. However, the imbalance between unskilled and skilled labor, as well as between recruitment demand and actual supply, can create a "bottleneck" if not properly regulated.
The labor market in Binh Duong province in April 2025 showed strong development potential and a leading role in the region. However, to maintain growth momentum and create sustainable labor value, it requires the synchronous participation of management levels, businesses, educational institutions and workers themselves. Only when labor "supply" and "demand" meet on the basis of skills, quality and adaptability, will the labor market in Binh Duong be truly stable and sustainable in the long term.
