Poem by Nguyen Thanh Mung: When the river meets the sea

(GLO)- Amidst the flow of memories, the poem "When the River Calls the Sea" by author Nguyen Thanh Mung evokes the image of the old river with its innocent promise, expressing regret at the changes. The river still waits, only the people are no longer the same as before.

Once upon a time I promised the river

Together to the end of the horizon

The river blinks and makes an appointment with me

The rippling waves of the ocean invite.

Floating and sinking, the river flows up and down.

With how many boats going downstream

The river meets the sea waiting for me

I didn't expect fresh salt to come until now.

Looking far away

Brush off the cold time and the hot shore

Rising tide makes eyes red and empty

The river of childhood hitched a ride to the old river.
