Defense Blog reported that Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) successfully conducted a test flight of the T929 heavy attack helicopter at one of its facilities on April 28.
With a take-off weight of 11 tons, the T929 is the second domestically produced helicopter by TAI, after the twin-engine attack helicopter T129.
According to Defense Blog , the T929 is equipped with a 2,500 horsepower TV3-117VMA-SBM1V Series 1 propeller engine. This engine is manufactured by a Ukrainian company, allowing the T929 helicopter to operate durably in many different terrain and weather conditions. In terms of weapons, the T929 is equipped with a 30mm caliber heavy gun and the ability to carry 1,500kg of weapons, including missiles and rockets on 6 pylons on both sides.
TAI affirms that the T929 helicopter is perfectly suitable for attack missions, air support, combat coordination and target reconnaissance.
Türkiye's defense industry has made significant strides recently. In late March, TAI revealed the first images of the country's stealth unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
Named Anka-3, the drone was designed by TAI with the size of a light fighter. This UAV has many outstanding features such as the ability to fly at high speed, carry many weapons and is almost invisible to enemy air defense radar systems. In addition, Anka-3 can fly at an altitude of 12km and operate for 10 hours continuously, allowing it to operate effectively in surveillance and target designation missions.

Turkish authorities have not yet announced when the Anka-3 stealth UAV will be officially put into service. However, observers say Ankara is hopeful that this new UAV, along with the 5th generation stealth fighter TF-X, can enhance the combat capabilities of the Turkish Air Force.
In addition to the weapons manufactured by TAI, Turkish defense contractor Baykar has also launched many modern and highly capable UAVs.
During the Ukraine conflict, Baykar's Bayraktar-TB2 UAVs greatly assisted President Volodymyr Zelensky's army in holding back Russian forces during the early stages of the special military operation. As a result, Baykar's UAVs have received a lot of attention from countries around the world.
