Thanks to the Farmers Support Fund, many farming households in Son Ha district, including ethnic minorities, have developed their economies effectively, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.
In 2021, Mr. Dinh Van Tho, in Son Nham commune, was given a loan of 50 million VND from the Farmers' Support Fund by the Farmers' Association of Son Ha district to develop cattle farming. From this source of funding, Mr. Tho bought 2 breeding cows. Each year, the cows give birth to 2 calves, which he sells for about 30 million VND, thereby providing additional income to support his family. Currently, Mr. Tho is continuing to invest in expanding his cattle breeding barn.
Two years ago, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Lieu, in Son Thanh commune, also borrowed 70 million VND from the Farmers Support Fund and invested in pig farming. Thanks to that, Ms. Lieu has now increased her pig herd to hundreds of pigs, including more than 20 breeding sows. In 2023, Ms. Lieu sold nearly 10 tons of pork and hundreds of piglets. "Although the loan capital from the Farmers Support Fund is not large, it has provided timely support for the family to stabilize the pig herd in the face of unstable market prices," Ms. Lieu shared.

From the capital of the Farmers Support Fund, Mr. Dinh Van Tho, in Son Nham commune (Son Ha) has developed a herd of cows, increasing his family's income.
After more than 7 years of implementing the Farmers Support Fund, Son Ha District Farmers' Association has implemented 34 projects, supporting 155 farming households to borrow capital to develop production and business, with a total budget of over 4.7 billion VND. In order for the fund to be used for the right purpose, the right target and bring economic efficiency, the District Farmers' Association has seriously implemented the evaluation of loan subjects. In particular, lending is associated with good guidance and selection of production and business plans suitable to the actual conditions of members' families and localities.
Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Son Ha district Nguyen Tan Cong said that the association will continue to mobilize all levels and sectors, calling on cadres and farmer members to build an increasingly growing fund, while replicating effective economic models. Strengthening supervision, inspection, urging and reminding members to use capital for the right purposes. Currently, Son Ha district is continuing to implement 21 lending projects, with 102 farmer households in 12 communes and towns receiving loans from this fund.
In the coming time, the Farmers' Association of Son Ha district will step up propaganda about the capital source of the Farmers' Support Fund, mobilize members and farmers to develop production and business plans to borrow capital to invest in developing economic models. The Farmers' Association of the district will coordinate to open training courses, classes on livestock and crop farming techniques and transfer new scientific and technical advances to help Farmers' Association members develop effective economic models, contributing to the effective implementation of poverty reduction work associated with new rural construction in the locality.
