Harmful breakfast habits make the kidneys cry for help

(Dan Tri) - Many people still think that breakfast is just a quick meal or a cup of tea or coffee is enough to start a new day. However, this seemingly harmless habit is silently harming the kidneys.

A good breakfast doesn't have to be elaborate, just ensure a balance between nutritional groups and freshness of food.

Simple dishes like hot porridge, boiled eggs, black bread with green vegetables or a glass of low-sugar milk are enough to provide energy without putting pressure on the digestive and excretory systems.

To protect the kidneys, each person should start with small daily tasks, especially in choosing and preparing breakfast. Taking care of a meal at the beginning of the day not only helps you to be more alert and work more effectively, but is also the most practical way to maintain long-term health.

No breakfast but still drink tea/coffee

According to Health , morning is an important time to restart the body's organs after a night's rest. In particular, the kidneys play a key role, helping to filter blood, regulate water and electrolytes.

However, breakfast is often overlooked or eaten hastily by many people, putting silent pressure on this agency.

Many people start their day with just a cup of tea or coffee. They think that is enough to wake them up and get on with their work.

However, the caffeine in these drinks has a diuretic effect, causing the body to quickly lose water. When there is not enough water, the kidneys are forced to work harder to maintain their filtering function, making them vulnerable to damage if this condition persists.

Another issue that is often overlooked is skipping breakfast regularly. When the body is not supplied with energy at the right time, the digestive organs, especially the liver and gallbladder, are also affected.

Unused bile accumulates, increasing the risk of gallstone formation. Over time, this can lead to gallbladder inflammation, kidney stones, and impaired kidney function.

Instead of helping the body start a healthy new day, the habit of skipping breakfast or drinking caffeinated drinks instead is unintentionally causing the kidneys to "work overtime" without proper protection.

Regular use of processed foods

Due to busy life, many people choose quick breakfast with packaged or processed foods. Although convenient, this is a food group that poses many health risks, especially to the kidneys.

Instant noodles, sausages, industrial sandwiches and instant cereals often contain high amounts of salt. Salt is filtered and excreted by the kidneys when entering the body, but if you eat too much, the kidneys will have to work too hard.

According to a study by Cleveland Clinic, a diet high in sodium and phosphorus increases the likelihood of kidney stones and disrupts calcium metabolism in the body. Notably, a high-sugar breakfast is also a potential cause of kidney damage.

Sweets, condensed milk, milk tea, and sugary cereals often cause blood sugar levels to spike. When blood sugar is high, the kidneys have to increase filtration to maintain homeostasis. Over time, this leads to impaired filtration function and can easily develop into diabetic kidney disease.

Eating breakfast seems simple, but if you choose the wrong way, your body will not only lack energy but also face many serious health problems, including kidney disease.
