At Ly Son, gusts of wind level 7 were recorded; at Huyen Tran station, southwest wind level 6, gusts level 8–9.

During the day and night of August 16, the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City and the South East Sea (including Truong Sa sea area) will have southwest winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, waves 2-3.5 m high, rough seas. The sea area in the North of the East Sea will have east winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusts of level 7-8. The central East Sea area will have winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, waves 2-3.5 m high. In addition, many sea areas will have thunderstorms with tornadoes, strong gusts of wind and waves over 3.5 m high.
