The first season of the Real Leather.Stay Different Vietnam fashion design competition, organized by the American Leather and Leather Association (LHCA), with the support of the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association (LEFASO) and leather sponsors, technical partners... ended and awarded prizes on the evening of July 9 in Ho Chi Minh City.
The shoe design category of the contestants made a strong impression at the gala night.

According to the organizers, there were more than 120 designs submitted by students from 15 universities and colleges nationwide. During the awards ceremony, Ton Duc Thang University students won grand prizes in all three categories of footwear design, accessory design and fashion design.
Contestant Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, with her design named Water Puppet, was awarded the championship in the accessory design category, and also won the overall championship and became the sole representative of Vietnam to attend the global final awards ceremony held in Taiwan on October 28.
Contestant Pham Le Huynh became the champion of the fashion category with his design Dan Dong. In the footwear category, male student Ly Nhan Huy won 3rd prize with his design Stairform and Nguyen Duc Minh Tam also won 3rd prize in the accessories category.
In addition to the awards for the best contestants in each category, the competition also has a championship award for the design with the most votes. This award was given to contestant Nguyen Thi Van Anh (University of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts - Vietnam National University, Hanoi).
Meeting the champion of the footwear category, Pham Thi Ngoc Lien, and the instructor, Mr. Pham Minh Phung (lecturer of the Fashion Technology Department of Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade), we were also surprised to learn that the Lac Viet - Lac Hong Footsteps shoes were inspired by the Ngoc Lu Bronze Drum of the Dong Son culture, one of the greatest and most sacred cultural symbols of the ancient Vietnamese people during the Van Lang - Au Lac period. "This is evidence of the high level of craftsmanship and aesthetic thinking of the ancient Vietnamese people. I wish to put the image of the Ngoc Lu Bronze Drum on my work to express my gratitude to our ancestors and grandparents," Ngoc Lien said.
The organizing committee awarded commemorative medals to thank the support of the judges, sponsors and 15 universities and colleges in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Every pair of shoes is a journey, and the most beautiful journey is when we carry gratitude with every step", the female champion of the footwear category confided.
During the awards gala, the presence of Ms. Jane Luxner, Attaché of the US Department of Agriculture; Ms. Jane Li, Vice President of LHCA, and members of the association showed deep interest in the capacity and potential of Vietnamese footwear fashion in the current context of sustainable development.
