In October 2024, Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy S24 FE - a smartphone designed specifically for technology enthusiasts who do not want to spend too much on high-end products. Following this, Samsung is in the process of developing a successor, possibly called the Galaxy S25 FE.
Galaxy S24 FE successor still uses old chip?

This detail was discovered based on a recently leaked internal code R13. Samsung often uses an internal codename system for its products, in which the "R" series is usually reserved for FE models. Specifically, R12 is the code for the Galaxy S24 FE and R13 could be the code name for the Galaxy S25 FE.
It's hard to expect high performance from the Galaxy S25 FE
However, the notable point in the leak may disappoint users with the performance that the Galaxy S25 FE can bring. Accordingly, Samsung may equip the Galaxy S25 FE with the Exynos 2400e chip like its predecessor. Although the Exynos 2400e is not a bad processor, it has fallen behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in terms of performance. When the Galaxy S25 FE launches in October 2025 (expected), the product will not be able to keep up with the latest flagship chips.

Along with the Galaxy S25 FE, Samsung is also working on another notable mid-range device, the Galaxy M36 5G. The source code of the Galaxy M36 5G shows that the device will use the Exynos 1380 chip that has been used on previous Galaxy M models such as the M35 5G. This is a processor chip released in 2023 and is currently widely used on many mid-range smartphones from Samsung.
Currently, Samsung has not provided any official information about the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy M36 5G. If the old generation chip continues to be used on them, users of previous models will have little reason to upgrade.
