The Chairman of the People's Committee of Cho town (Yen Phong district, Bac Ninh ) said that after information about a woman seeking a benefactor to lend her 8 taels of gold since 2004 appeared on social networks, representatives of the police and the residential group stepped in to verify the information.
In recent days, social networks have been buzzing with the story of a woman named Dinh Hai Nam (born in 1983), living in Cho town, Yen Phong district, (Bac Ninh province) who wants to find her benefactor named Nga (from Phu Tho ). Because 21 years ago, Ms. Nga lent Ms. Hai Nam 8 taels of gold to save her child with hemangioma.
The story has been widely spread on social media. Many people have expressed their desire to help Ms. Hai Nam find her benefactor, but many others have also questioned the veracity of the story.
The person in white is believed to be Ms. Nga - the person Ms. Hai Nam is looking for.
Faced with mixed reactions from the online community, sharing with the press, Ms. Nam affirmed that her story is true and she is trying to find her benefactor.
This afternoon (March 15), speaking with reporters, Mr. Do Tuan Linh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cho town (Yen Phong district) said that immediately after receiving information on social networks, representatives of the police and the residential group went down to verify information about Ms. Hai Nam.
"Ms. Nam is from Hoa Tien commune, married to a man from An Ninh village, Yen Phu commune, Yen Phong district. Recently, Ms. Nam rented a snack shop in Cho town. She did not register her temporary residence or temporary absence in Cho town," said Mr. Linh.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Cho town also said that recently, Ms. Nam often does charity work. People consider her a good person, without any bad reputation.
According to the chairman of the Cho town People's Committee, although they have Ms. Nam's phone number, the commune police and authorities have not been able to contact her for the past few days.
"We have been calling Ms. Nam and her relatives for the past few days but have not been able to reach them. The verification of gold loans as shared on social networks is currently not possible," said Mr. Do Tuan Linh.
Previously, on March 13, Ms. Hai Nam posted on her personal Facebook with the following content:
"On March 11, 2004, my daughter was hospitalized for the second time due to a hemangioma. Ms. Nga helped me with 8 taels of 9999 gold. She took me from the Children's Hospital to Phu Tho - her hometown - to get the gold. She kept the gold in a brown wooden box shaped like a toad.
Her house is across a river, she is an ethnic person, her garden is large, with lots of corn. She said she has three sisters, and has cassava cakes and salted cassava leaves stewed with fish.
Her family has a flower garden in front of the house. She said her grandfather was the head of the family. When he came back, he gave me a talisman to ward off ghosts and cure my child's illness. Her mother gave me some big, black dried fish that had been hung in the kitchen for a long time. The meat inside was light yellow.
Her house is a stilt house, to get to her house you have to take the train, the last station you arrive at is near a military barracks (a small barracks with two concrete pillars, above which is an iron sign across, with red painted letters).
The barracks were sold by the locals with many dried palm fruits and crab apples. After getting off the train, we walked through a room to reach the ferry terminal. My sister and I got on the ferry. There was a very large tree at the terminal with many vines spreading out like a banyan tree.
From the beginning of 2005 to the end of 2005, every time I discharged my child from the hospital, I paid my sister 1 tael of gold. At that time, she lived alone in Cau Giay.
In 2006, she came to visit me once in Bac Ninh, I knew she came back to collect debt. But because I was so poor, my child was still in the hospital, she bought me a bag of rice, two bags of instant noodles and a little meat, after eating with me she left.
Since 2008, I lost contact with you. Every year I asked someone to inquire about your news. In 2009, I went to Phu Tho for 2 days, then in 2015, I went to Doan Phuong station for 2 and a half days but could not find you.
Now I ask the community to help me share, because I still have 3 more taels of gold that I have not been able to pay you back. I am grateful to you for helping me and my daughter during difficult times and taking care of my daughter when she was in the hospital so that I have time to work extra to raise her...
"Sister, I've been looking for you for many years. Are you well? Is life okay? Please contact me."
