On July 16, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the 2025 high school graduation exam scores. Among millions of candidates nationwide, Nguyen Quang Minh ( Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted), excelled and became the valedictorian of group A00, with 30/30 points for three subjects: Math, Physics, and Chemistry. With three perfect 10s, Minh is one of 8 candidates who achieved the absolute score of group A00 in this year's exam.

A journey of learning full of courage
Minh said that his love for Math was kindled in him since his junior high school years when he studied at Nguyen Cao Secondary School. Here, he was selected to be in the school's excellent student team. However, when he entered high school, Minh was not able to join the team as expected. That "slip" made him sad, but after only about two weeks, Minh recovered his spirit and decided to focus on the bigger goal of the high school graduation and university entrance exams.
"My parents are always there to encourage me and say, 'There are many things ahead, we are here, try to study hard and focus on the university entrance exam,'" Minh shared.
From there, Minh built a clear learning path. Not focusing on the results of the excellent student exam, he quietly practiced basic and advanced knowledge. Every day, Minh spent equal time on each subject, usually studying each subject for an hour and then moving on to another subject to stay alert and avoid feeling bored.
The right way to learn
Unlike many of his friends who study in groups to exchange ideas, Minh chooses to study independently. He often learns knowledge through books, online teaching videos , and online study groups. According to Minh, this helps him proactively discover more ways to solve problems, while improving his ability to solve problems on his own.

Minh doesn’t study too late or wake up too early. In the evening, he only spends about 3-4 hours studying, focusing on the weak areas. Minh also doesn’t make detailed plans for each day, instead, he sets specific goals and perseveres in completing them.
“You don’t need to study too much, but you have to study the right way. Knowing where you went wrong and correcting it, and keeping a cheerful spirit throughout the exam preparation process will help you go a long way,” Minh emphasized.
Mathematics has always been Minh's favorite subject, especially algebra, because he "feels excited when he sees the result right after solving it". On the contrary, geometry gives him a bit of difficulty because it requires spatial thinking and imagination.
Regarding Physics, Minh shared that his passion comes from exploring natural phenomena such as electricity, lightning, and sound waves. “Every time I solve a difficult problem, I feel very happy. It feels like a small achievement, giving me more motivation to continue studying,” Minh said.

Minh is currently considering pursuing a technical field such as Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) - fields that he believes will have many practical applications in the future. Minh's older brother is currently an Information Technology student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and is also a great source of inspiration for him.
“I am learning more to choose the right path that suits my abilities and interests. I need more time to decide,” Minh said.
Keep a happy spirit - the secret to conquering exams
Sharing his learning experience, Minh emphasized that the most important factors are perseverance, self-discipline and staying optimistic. When feeling tired or discouraged, Minh chooses to rest, relax a bit and then return to studying instead of forcing himself.
Outside of school, Minh enjoys playing sports to relieve stress, especially shuttlecock, soccer or playing games with friends. Minh also admires Cristiano Ronaldo, who he considers a symbol of hard work, determination and never giving up. “I always support whichever team he plays for,” Minh said with a smile.
