“I am very excited about this match. Cong Phuong and I have had many opportunities to work together, so this match brings many special experiences,” Da Nang goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung said about the confrontation with Cong Phuong at the press conference before the Bia Sao Vang 2024/25 play-off match on the afternoon of June 26.

The play-off match for a ticket to the V.League 2025/26 will be a confrontation between Da Nang and Binh Phuoc . In which, Da Nang, despite being continuously at the bottom of the V.League rankings, finally finished in 13th place to retain 0.5 of the relegation spot. Binh Phuoc won the right to participate in the match as the runner-up of the First Division.

The interesting point of the match is the reunion of Tien Dung and Cong Phuong. Both used to play for Ho Chi Minh City and fought side by side in the national teams. However, for Bui Tien Dung, defeating Cong Phuong or Binh Phuoc is the responsibility of the whole team.

“If I defeat Cong Phuong, it is not my personal achievement or responsibility. I do not focus on marking Cong Phuong because football is a team sport,” the goalkeeper born in 1997 continued.

The goalkeeper from Thanh Hoa also expressed his confidence in his teammates, although many of them are quite young. He appreciated the spirit that the whole team showed and believed that Da Nang's current position was the result of a lot of effort. Bui Tien Dung believes that if they continue to maintain that spirit, Da Nang will do even better in the future.

“According to the regulations, if the two teams are tied after 90 minutes, there will be a penalty shootout. Not only Da Nang, but also Binh Phuoc has prepared. This is the last and most important match of the season. Every match for us is a final match from a long time ago, so we must win to stay in the V.League. The plan is carefully prepared, and our team is ready for tomorrow's match,” said Bui Tien Dung.

Also attending the press conference, Coach Le Duc Tuan (Da Nang) highly appreciated Binh Phuoc, because the Southern representative has experienced players in the squad. However, he commented that the chances for both teams are 50-50. The team that takes advantage of the opportunity will be the winner.

“When I led Da Nang, I relied on collective play, and foreign players were just a supporting part. There was a time when many of our foreign players were suspended and injured, and the team had to use 100% domestic players. However, they still played with great spirit, contributing to the overall play. We overcame many difficulties, and the players are becoming more and more mature. I have complete confidence in them,” said coach Le Duc Tuan.

The play-off match between Da Nang and Binh Phuoc will take place at 6pm on June 27 at Thong Nhat Stadium.
