Coach Enzo Maresca is prioritising the search for a new goalkeeper. His patience is running out with the two current options being Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, while Kepa is likely to join Arsenal.

Chelsea's Club World Cup campaign begins next Monday, so they want to get a deal done quickly for Maignan.

Journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that the number 1 goalkeeper of the French national team really wants to join Chelsea. He has clearly stated his plan to AC Milan to leave early.

Mike Maignan has also made it clear that he will not renew his contract with AC Milan, which expires next summer.

Maignan is therefore pushing for an immediate transfer. The registration process must be completed by today (June 10) in order for him to be able to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup in his new shirt.

Maignan himself has agreed personal terms with the London club. However, the problem lies in the transfer fee.

Chelsea are only willing to pay £13m at most for the deal, while AC Milan are asking for £15m.

Mike Maignan won 32 caps for France and was twice named in the Serie A team of the year during his four years at AC Milan.
