Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan officially established diplomatic relations on June 4, 1992. In fact, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan was formed long ago and tested in the common struggle for independence of the two peoples.

The Government and people of Kyrgyzstan have helped and supported the Vietnamese people's past struggle for national independence and current nation-building.

Since the official establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have always closely coordinated and supported each other in multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations. Vietnam always considers Kyrgyzstan an important partner in Central Asia.

After decades of building and developing, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan is opening up many opportunities for cooperation, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment.

The two sides agreed to coordinate to effectively implement the FTA between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU); strengthen cooperation in agriculture, education, health care, culture, sports, tourism and aviation.
