Hiroshima is a city located in the southwest of Japan, strategically located connecting the Kansai and Kyushu regions of Japan, with a developed marine economy and heavy industry, a symbol of strong growth after the world war. Hiroshima owns many attractions recognized by UNESCO as world heritage sites such as Itsukushima Shrine with the Torii gate floating on the sea, the peace memorial, Hiroshima Castle, ... and attractive local cuisine.

The Hanoi - Hiroshima route will start serving passengers from July 19, 2023 with 2 round trips per week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Thus, Vietjet currently has direct flights from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and many flights to Niigata, Shizuoka, Fukushima... Accordingly, Vietjet increases the number of Vietnam - Japan flights to 58 round trips/week.

Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, CEO of Vietjet, said that as a member of the Japan Business Federation - Keidanren, Japan's largest comprehensive economic organization, Vietjet is committed to continuing to expand its flight network to Japan, bringing many opportunities for bilateral and multilateral cooperation, with many convenient flight options. In 2023, Vietjet plans to provide more than 1.5 million seats between Vietnam and Japan, comprehensively connecting Japan's tourism and economic centers with attractive destinations across Vietnam and the region such as Australia, India, Kazakhstan, etc.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu said that Vietjet's opening of the first direct flight from Vietnam to Hiroshima opens up more opportunities for cooperation in investment, trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and Japan in general and Hiroshima Prefecture in particular. The event is especially meaningful as the two countries are holding many activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Governor of Hiroshima Prefecture, Mr. Masahiko Tanabe, said that Hiroshima Prefecture and Hiroshima International Airport are working together to expand the province's flight network; the newly announced Hanoi - Hiroshima route is the first route connecting the Chugoku and Shikoku regions with Vietnam. With Vietjet's new direct routes, it is expected that cooperation between Hiroshima and Vietnam will be more active in many fields, including business, trade and tourism.../.
