On June 11 in Beijing, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh paid a courtesy visit to Chairman of the Chinese State Ethnic Committee Phan Nhac.
At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh shared that Vietnam-China relations in recent years have maintained good development momentum, with many bright spots in cooperation in various fields.
The year 2025 has special significance in the relationship between the two countries, marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, and has also been identified by the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries as the Year of Humanitarian Exchange.
Under the strategic guidance of the senior leaders of the two Parties and countries, political trust between the two sides has been increasingly consolidated; cooperation through the channels of the Party, Government, National Assembly, Fatherland Front, localities, mass organizations and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries has taken place regularly, vibrantly and effectively.
In April this year, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping made a very successful State visit to Vietnam; The top leaders of the two Parties and two countries continued to provide strategic directions to guide the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh emphasized that with the common characteristic that the two countries have many ethnic groups living together, the two sides always maintain close cooperation, through the cooperation mechanism between the Vietnam Ethnic Committee (now the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions) and the Chinese State Ethnic Committee to exchange and share experiences in ethnic work, including planning and implementing policies for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, State management measures, mobilizing resources to care for ethnic people..., and at the same time coordinate to organize exchange activities, especially exchanges between people of ethnic groups in the border areas of the two countries.
On this occasion, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh proposed a number of key contents to promote cooperation between the two sides in ethnic affairs in the coming time, including increasing delegation exchanges at all levels within the framework of the cooperation mechanism between the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Vietnam and the State Ethnic Committee of China, promoting cultural exchange activities between ethnic minority regions of the two countries.
Strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of training and education for children in mountainous areas and ethnic minorities, including the Chinese side giving priority to granting university scholarships and Chinese language courses to students from ethnic minority areas in Vietnam and having short-term or long-term training programs for officials and lecturers of schools under the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Vietnam, promoting relevant agencies of the two countries to sign a cooperation agreement on China's support for training ethnic minority students in Vietnam.

Chairman of the State Ethnic Committee of China Phan Nhac shared that he has a very good impression of the country, people and culture of the ethnic groups of Vietnam.
Agreeing with the proposals of Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh, the Chairman of the State Ethnic Committee of China said that the two sides exchanging and promoting substantive cooperation in specific areas, especially in humanistic and cultural exchanges, sharing experiences and methods to effectively implement ethnic and religious work of the two countries will contribute to enriching and deepening the content of cooperation between the two countries, effectively contributing to the ethnic work of each country.
Director Phan Nhac emphasized that China and Vietnam are both civilizations with strong national identities. The two sides maintaining coordination, fully promoting national cultural identities, and enhancing public awareness of national culture, especially among the younger generation, is of great significance in preserving similarities and unique identities in each country's culture. This is even more meaningful in the Year of China-Vietnam Cultural Exchange, which not only strengthens the friendship between the two countries' young generations, but also contributes practically to consolidating the social foundation of bilateral relations.

The two sides affirmed that the Vietnam-China relationship has a solid foundation and broad prospects for cooperation in many fields, including important contributions from people-to-people exchanges. The two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate to promote exchanges at many levels, from high-ranking leaders, academia, press and media, education and culture and arts, multi-framework cooperation, both bilaterally and within the framework of ASEAN, the Global Civilization Initiative, etc.
Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always pay attention to promoting socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, wishing to quickly narrow the gap with plains and urban areas, and improve the material and spiritual life of people in difficult areas.
The Ambassador expressed his belief that with the attention and close direction of the two countries' senior leaders, cooperation in ethnic affairs between the two sides will have strong momentum for development.
With its role as a bridge, the Embassy will continue to closely coordinate in further promoting cooperation between the two sides, contributing to consolidating the relationship between the two Parties, the two countries, and the peoples of the two countries, enriching and making more substantive the content of bilateral cooperation.

After the meeting, the representative of the Chinese Nationalities Commission invited Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh to visit the National Palace of Chinese Nationalities, a project whose idea was proposed by Chairman Mao Zedong and whose design was personally approved by Premier Zhou Enlai, completed in 1959, and is one of the 10 great structures in Beijing, symbolizing the unity, development and prosperity of the Chinese nation as well as the victory of the ethnic policy of the Communist Party of China.
