Some Japanese technologies imported into Vietnam have proven their suitability and superiority, especially in the fields of plant breeding, high technology, and processing technology to enhance the value of agricultural products.
In particular, with diverse terrain and climate, many temperate and subtropical agricultural regions of Vietnam are highly compatible with Japanese technologies, becoming a potential for technology transfer cooperation between the two countries.
Display of agricultural products at the Workshop |
Although Japan's agriculture is quite developed, it only meets over 45% of domestic consumption demand and still has to import agricultural products every year. This is considered an advantage for Vietnam to expand the export of agricultural products to Japan.
However, Vietnam needs to pay attention to technological innovation, strictly manage stages in the production process, and comply with safe production processes that meet export standards to the Japanese market.
Therefore, agricultural cooperation applying Japanese high technology to increase productivity and quality of agricultural products for export and expand Vietnam's agricultural export market to other countries is an essential need of Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises.
Vice President of Dalat Flower Association Lai The Hung presented a paper on the current situation of accessing new Japanese technology in flower production for export. |
Regarding Lam Dong , Vice President of the Dalat Flower Association Lai The Hung stated that the flower growing profession in Lam Dong has now developed on par with other countries in the region due to the introduction of modern technologies in varieties, materials, equipment, smart control systems, cultivation skills, especially the climate, land and natural conditions suitable for growing a variety of flowers all year round.
Although Lam Dong’s flower and decorative leaf export market to Japan has great potential for development, it still has many limitations due to technical barriers and prices, so the annual increase in quantity is not much. Therefore, there needs to be more cooperation between Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises to develop the production and consumption of Da Lat – Lam Dong flowers; at the same time, quickly access technology, equipment, materials, fertilizers from Japan, and integrate more deeply with the world in organizing flower production and trade.
