Le Thuy is one of the outstanding students who have achieved success in the province's entrepreneurship, innovation, and technical innovation competitions. Her project, "Production and Business of Cereal Flour - Mother Nurtured," along with two other students in her team, won first prize at the 4th Kien Giang Provincial Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition in 2024, and second prize at the 10th Kien Giang Provincial Technical Innovation Competition (2024-2025).
The rapid development of digital technology and AI facilitates students' ability to choose learning content and programs that suit their skills, interests, and needs, fostering self-development and promoting a culture of lifelong learning in the digital age. Ho Kim Tien, a student in class 11A4 at Nguyen Hung Son High School in Rach Gia ward, said: “I realize that I need to build self-learning abilities and hone my skills in applying information technology in the digital age to update my knowledge, develop myself, and enhance my future career opportunities. Applying information technology has helped me a lot in my studies and life.”
Nowadays, if we don't want to fall behind, everyone must proactively embrace digital technology. As human knowledge continues to develop, proactively honing digital skills and exploiting abundant open educational resources based on technology, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and AI, is essential. This helps us enrich our own knowledge and culture.
The internet allows people to access learning resources, e-books, online lectures, and information on almost any topic. Many mobile applications have been developed to support active learning. For example, learners can use language learning apps, time management apps, note-taking apps, and many others to improve their learning efficiency. Searching, retrieving, and updating information and learning materials has become faster and more time-efficient thanks to information technology. The emergence of online learning platforms allows learners to study from home or anywhere convenient via internet-connected devices anytime, anywhere, expanding their learning space.
Technology not only changes how students access knowledge and bridges geographical distances, but also helps them save time and focus on essential subjects instead of attending mass tutoring sessions. "Utilizing digital platforms and learning apps has helped my child become more self-disciplined in their studies, learn to plan clearly, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hieu, a resident of Rach Gia ward.
In recent times, the province has strengthened investment in digital infrastructure at the grassroots level, developing digital technology, digital data, and digital services. It has provided high-speed fiber optic internet services to meet the learning and living needs of students, citizens, and the general public, contributing to an improved quality of life. Digital technology and AI help personalize learning, optimize self-study effectiveness, and maximize the potential of each student.
