The people contributed over 38 billion VND to building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and taking care of social welfare.

(CT) - Over the past nine months, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Can Tho City and the Front Work Committees in hamlets and areas, in coordination with member organizations, have mobilized the people to participate in patriotic emulation movements and national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural development, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas through many practical activities.

Specifically, the people donated 24,750 ^m² of land and crops; expanded and upgraded roads and alleys with a total length of 37.5 km; built and repaired 50 traffic bridges; repaired and patched 9 rural roads; dredged and renovated canals with a total length of 6,450 m; carried out general environmental sanitation, cleared bushes, collected waste, built bright, green, clean, and beautiful roads, installed over 300 streetlights; built many "National Flag Roads"; and planted 5,950 ornamental plants of various types. At the same time, 21,330 gifts, 175 scholarships, and 5,200 notebooks were donated. The total value of the projects and tasks implemented exceeded 38 billion VND and 4,598 man-days of labor, contributed by the people.
