In the journey to realize that aspiration, the financial sector plays a key role in coordinating, exploiting and effectively using resources, creating a foundation for the province's economic growth.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, An Giang's average GRDP reached 5.68%/year, the economic structure shifted positively, in which industry - construction and trade - services gradually increased, agriculture continued to be the mainstay, contributing to stabilizing life and ensuring social security.

The province is strategically located, with a long border and an important gateway for trade with Cambodia and the Mekong Delta. This is a condition for the development of a comprehensive economy, trade, tourism and regional connectivity.

At the 1st Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, the province set a target of GRDP reaching 630,370 billion VND, GRDP per capita of 6,300 USD and total social investment capital of 649,007 billion VND by 2030.

To achieve this goal, the province focuses on developing two major connecting axes: the vertical axis towards Ha Tien - Phu Quoc and the horizontal axis of Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway, expanding the trade corridor to Tran De port. At the same time, effectively implementing Resolutions 57, 59, 66 and 68 of the Politburo on innovation of growth model and development of strategic infrastructure; in which, the financial sector continues to play the role of coordinating and balancing public investment capital.

At the socio-economic development consultation conference last July, experts agreed that green, circular and high-tech agriculture will be the breakthrough foundation to move the province forward.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan emphasized: "Developing modern agriculture associated with deep processing, building raw material areas that meet GAP and organic standards, not only ensures food security but also opens up high-value export opportunities."

Supporting this view, Mr. Trinh Van Dut - Director of Tan Phu A1 Agricultural Cooperative, Tan An commune, suggested: "The province needs to have preferential credit policies for farmers and businesses to link up and develop production in a sustainable and long-term direction."

The pivotal role of the financial sector

Along with agriculture, An Giang identifies industry and services as two pillars to promote growth, shifting development in depth. The province focuses on advantageous industries such as: Food processing - seafood, medicinal materials, renewable energy, garment, construction materials; promoting trade services, logistics, finance - banking and tourism to form a sustainable value chain.

Mr. Doan Toi - General Director of Nam Viet Joint Stock Company proposed: "The province needs to soon complete logistics infrastructure to reduce transportation costs; have preferential credit policies for businesses to invest in deep processing, increasing product value. When businesses are strong, farmers have stable output, the local economy will make a breakthrough".

Director of the Department of Finance Pham Minh Tam commented: "The double-digit growth target is not only an economic figure but also a symbol of An Giang's strong aspiration to rise up."

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan suggested that to achieve the aspiration of double-digit growth, An Giang must remove infrastructure and planning bottlenecks. Completing the provincial planning, developing logistics centers, cold storage, river ports - seaports, and key traffic routes will expand development space, creating a sustainable economic foundation.

In realizing this aspiration, the financial sector continues to play a core role in coordinating and allocating resources, focusing on mobilizing and effectively using capital; exploiting land and resources well; promoting public-private partnership (PPP), socializing investment; strictly managing the budget, prioritizing capital for key infrastructure projects.

Mr. Pham Minh Tam affirmed: "The financial sector will accompany businesses and people, ensuring financial discipline and flexibility in mechanisms, while also unlocking resources, focusing capital on infrastructure, processing industry, services and high-tech agriculture to create a driving force that spreads throughout the economy."

The aspiration for double-digit growth in the 2025-2030 period comes not only from the government's determination but also from the consensus of businesses and people. When infrastructure is completed, businesses boldly invest, and farmers focus on clean production, An Giang can completely turn its growth aspiration into reality.

“The aspiration for double-digit growth cannot be achieved if social capital is not unblocked. Therefore, the Department of Finance is committed to accompanying businesses and people, ensuring financial discipline but being flexible in management, creating an open investment environment so that every penny of capital truly generates profit for the province's development,” emphasized Director of the Department of Finance Pham Minh Tam.
