This morning, March 29, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang chaired a working session of the Standing Provincial Party Committee with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) on key tasks in 2024. In 2023, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on directing the implementation of the basic completion of the commitments made to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the conclusions of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the work program set forth by the Executive Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor.

Accordingly, the rate of construction and repair of union shelters and public houses for teachers in difficult areas reached 120%; development of union members reached 110%; establishment of grassroots unions reached 116%; enterprises with 10 or more employees (with union organizations) signed collective labor agreements (CLAs) reached 100%; coordination in inspection and supervision of enterprises and units reached 108%; 100% of grassroots unions and direct superior unions successfully completed their congresses for the 2023-2028 term...

In 2024, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor will focus on leading and directing all levels of trade unions in the province to strive to achieve the following targets: mobilizing and developing about 3,000 new union members; surveying and mobilizing the establishment of 25 or more grassroots trade unions.

Organized 18 training courses to improve professional skills for 1,500 union officials; negotiated with enterprises to sign 20 new collective labor agreements, re-sign 30 expired collective labor agreements; mobilized 14 enterprises to increase the meal allowance for workers from 20,000 VND or more.

Strive from now until the end of the year to mobilize resources to build about 6 more public housing rooms for teachers in disadvantaged areas, 27 union shelters. Apply information technology to effectively organize traditionaleducation and enthusiastically organize activities to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union on July 28 (1929 - 2024), the 35th anniversary of the re-establishment of Quang Tri province on July 1 (1989-2024), activities of Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Health Action Month in 2024.

At the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor proposed that the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee have a plan to supervise the direction and organization of the implementation of Action Program No. 23-CTHĐ/TU, dated September 27, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee for subordinate party committees to further strengthen the Party's leadership over trade union organizations and activities.

Pay attention to directing the work of developing party members and grassroots party organizations in the enterprise sector to increase the proportion of party members among workers, laborers and grassroots party organizations in enterprises; annually assign specific targets to each subordinate Party Committee for implementation...

Concluding the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the commitment of the Provincial Labor Federation to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, especially the construction and repair of union shelters and public houses for teachers in disadvantaged areas, helping many union members and workers have stable housing, peace of mind in their work and production, contributing to the development of agencies, units and enterprises.

It is recommended that in the coming time, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor should continue to direct the building of trade union organizations and activities, and improve the quality of trade union officials at all levels, especially at the grassroots level.
