On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, on April 23, a delegation from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, led by Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defense, visited and expressed gratitude to former Deputy Ministers of National Defense and their families.

After kindly inquiring about the health and life of the comrade generals, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong expressed his deep gratitude for the merits and contributions of the former leaders of the Ministry of National Defense to the cause of national liberation, national construction and defense, and army building; happily reported the outstanding results of the entire army in 2024 and the first months of 2025, including key activities of the entire army to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Over the past time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have led and directed the entire army to comprehensively complete its tasks; regularly forecasted and correctly assessed the situation, promptly advised the Party and State to flexibly and effectively handle military and defense situations, avoid being passive and surprised, and firmly protect the Fatherland.
At the same time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense have led and directed synchronous solutions to build a lean, strong, and modern Army, ensuring that the Army successfully completes all tasks in the new situation. The entire Army strictly maintains combat readiness, actively participates in and effectively implements disaster prevention, control, and rescue work, which is highly appreciated by the Party and the State.
Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong hopes that former leaders of the Ministry of National Defense will continue to pay attention, monitor, and provide valuable comments, contributing to building an increasingly strong Army, and successfully completing all assigned tasks.

Senior Lieutenant General Phan Trung Kien and Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don thanked the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and members of the working delegation for their affection and attention; and expressed their excitement and joy at the results achieved by the entire army in recent times.
On the same day, Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong and the delegation visited the family and burned incense in memory of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, former member of the Party Central Committee, former member of the Central Military Commission, former Deputy Minister of National Defense and Lieutenant General Nguyen Thoi Bung, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Deputy Minister of National Defense.
