Ministry of Education and Training inspects the results of universal education work in Bac Kan

According to the report at the inspection session, in recent years, the work of PCGD and illiteracy eradication (XMC) in general, and the work of PCGD in primary schools and PCGD in secondary schools in particular, have always received the attention of Party committees at all levels, authorities, and the coordination of agencies, departments, branches, and organizations, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of PCGD work in the locality.

The standing agencies for PCGD and XMC at district and commune levels have made great efforts in advising, developing plans and organizing implementation. The Departmentof Education and Training has actively and proactively advised the province to promptly issue documents directing the implementation of PCGD and XMC in the area; effectively implemented the 2018 General Education Program; continued to implement solutions to improve the quality of education, innovate teaching methods, testing and evaluation, and foster professional skills for teachers and managers; advised on organizing inspections to recognize PCGD and XMC results according to regulations.

In general, the staff and teachers have a sense of responsibility in their work, regularly participate in training and coaching to improve their professional qualifications and skills, meeting the implementation of the Preschool Education Program and the General Education Program 2018. Facilities and equipment are invested in to basically meet the needs of teaching, learning and educational activities.

According to the province's self-assessment results, by December 2024, Bac Kan province will maintain the standards for preschool education for 5-year-old children, level 3 primary education standards, level 2 secondary education standards, and level 2 secondary education standards.

In addition, the province's PCGD work still faces many difficulties. The quality of general education is still low compared to the national average; the quality of PCGD in some units is not high and not sustainable; the number of illiterate people aged 15-60 is still high. In some schools, the teaching staff is not properly structured, a small number of teachers do not meet the requirements of current educational innovation. The number of teachers and staff in some schools is still lacking, not meeting the needs; the number of schools and combined classes at preschool and primary levels is still high. Some educational institutions still lack classrooms and functional rooms; preschool equipment and toys are not uniform; the purchase and addition of teaching equipment has not ensured progress.

At the inspection, Deputy Director of the General Education Department Do Duc Que acknowledged and highly appreciated the work of PCGD in Bac Kan in the past time and emphasized that the work of PCGD is not only the responsibility of the Education and Training sector but also of local Party committees, authorities, Party organizations and unions. He proposed that the province have solutions to improve the quality of education through improving the quality of teachers, enhancing training and professional development for teachers. Regarding facilities and teaching equipment, he suggested that specialized agencies guide the implementation of bidding so that schools and students have equipment for teaching and learning.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Thu Trang spoke at the inspection session.

Speaking at the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Thu Trang emphasized that the province always identifies the task of education and training as a key task, contributing to the province's long-term sustainable development, therefore, it has focused many resources on education and training. Based on the opinions of the Inspection Team, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Thu Trang requested the Department of Education and Training to promptly overcome the shortcomings and limitations pointed out by the Inspection Team; continue to firmly maintain the level 3 primary education universalization; strive to achieve the level 3 secondary education universalization; in the coming time, hope to continue to receive the attention of the Ministry of Education and Training for the province's education and training work.

Previously, on April 23 and 24, the Inspection Team inspected the results of PCGD in districts and cities in the province. The Inspection Team assessed that by December 2024, Bac Kan province is eligible to be recognized as meeting the standards of PCGD for primary schools at level 3 and PCGD for secondary schools at level 2. The Team will report to the Minister of Education and Training for consideration and issue a decision to recognize these results./.
