Phong Le Ancestral Temple is a city-level historical relic.

VHO - On the afternoon of May 23, at Phong Le Village Ancestral Temple (Hoa Chau Commune, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City ), the People's Committee of Hoa Chau Commune held a ceremony to announce and receive the Certificate of ranking as a city-level architectural and artistic relic for Phong Le Ancestral Temple.

Through many ups and downs of history, with changes in names, geographical divisions, changes in residents, and agricultural specialization, Phong Le village has now formed different geographical areas with 4 villages of Hoa Chau commune: Phong Nam, Tay An, Dong Hoa, Bau Cau and 2 wards of Hoa Tho Dong and Hoa Tho Tay.

However, local clans still maintain the cultural features of their ancestors, such as worshiping the village's ancestors, worshiping the God of Agriculture, and preserving the value of the unique Phong Le village Shepherd Festival in the whole country.

Mr. Le Duc Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Chau commune delivered the opening speech.

After many times the People's Committee of Hoa Chau commune proposed to rank the Phong Le village's ancestral temple as a relic, with the coordination and facilitation of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang and the Da Nang Museum, on May 6, 2025, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang city issued Decision No. 1447/QD-UBND on ranking the city-level architectural and artistic relic.

Chairman of Hoa Chau Commune People's Committee - Mr. Le Duc Hung shared: "This is a great joy and honor for the people of Phong Le village. The recognized relic contributes to diversifying and enriching the historical, cultural and artistic values ​​of the locality. It is a great pride that in the same locality there are 2 city-level relics ranked, namely Than Nong Communal House and Phong Le Tien Hien Church.

This will be one of the important conditions contributing to the successful implementation of the Project to build a "Characteristic Cultural Village" in Phong Nam village, Hoa Chau commune by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Hoa Chau Commune receives the Certificate of city-level relic ranking for Phong Le Ancestral Temple

According to Mr. Ngo Tat Hien - Head of Phong Le village: The Ancestral Temple is a place where the culture of many generations of villagers converge, the crystallization of traditional moral values ​​that generations of Phong Le villagers have worked together to create over hundreds of years of founding the village without changing.

Up to now, Phong Le village church has not only 17 ethnic groups but also over 20. Through research and survey, all the ethnic groups have close emotional relationships that have been closely connected for many generations in the community, family and society. That is a cultural and historical beauty that has long been deeply imprinted in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.

The Phong Le village's clan church has been renovated and rebuilt many times, the last time it was moved and built on an area of ​​over 3000m2, the church and meeting house area is 500m2 and was built in 1898. Here, many royal decrees, edicts, royal decrees... were once kept, but the sands of time have erased the traces left by our ancestors.

The church has an architecture that bears the strong imprint of national culture. The yin-yang tiled roof, the images of “two dragons facing the sun”, “two phoenixes facing the moon”, and the sophisticated carvings on the rafters and columns have created a rare work of art that our ancestors worked hard to build.

Phong Le Ancestral Temple

In order for the relic to be protected and promoted most effectively, and at the same time become a place to educate traditions for today's and future generations, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Chau commune requested that sectors, levels, political and social organizations, especially schools in the area, strengthen education and promote revolutionary traditions for the young generation, promote the spirit of solidarity and mutual love.

Also at the ceremony to receive the Certificate of Relic, the People's Committee of Hoa Chau commune introduced the Management Board of the Phong Le Village Ancestral Temple Relic. The Management Board of the relic is responsible for developing a management plan so that the cultural institution can operate more effectively, maximizing the values ​​that the relic brings.

The People's Committee of Hoa Chau commune assigned the Relic Management Board to quickly complete the plan to propose the People's Committee of the commune to coordinate with the Departments and branches of the city to complete the dossier on relic restoration, combined with the construction of a Farming Tools Exhibition House according to the plan to implement the construction of the "Characteristic Cultural Village" of Phong Nam village by 2030, with a vision to 2045 approved by Hoa Vang district.
