The effectiveness of the pilot model of the permanent militia and self-defense squad in Bat Mot commune

Faced with the above reality, in October 2014, the Provincial Military Command decided to establish a permanent militia and self-defense squad of Bat Mot commune, consisting of 9 comrades selected from the commune, aged from 18 to 45. To improve combat readiness, the Military Command of Thuong Xuan District always pays attention to training, coaching, drills, competitions, and sports, considering this as the key content to improve the overall quality and combat readiness of the squad. During training, the squad is directed by the District Military Command to directly train cadres following the motto "Basic, practical, quality", associated with the implementation of the requirement "Grasp the training content, apply creatively and effectively in performing assigned tasks". In particular, attach importance to training to improve the ability to coordinate and cooperate between forces to maintain political security and social order and safety in the area. Closely combine training with discipline training, military training with political education, education on local traditions; combine training with practicing combat plans in defense areas; prevent and overcome the consequences of natural disasters, search and rescue, and mass mobilization work.

The squad leader of the Bat Mot commune's permanent militia squad, Vi Van Tung, said: The soldiers in the squad are trained to master basic techniques in using support tools, techniques in fighting and capturing armed subjects, on-site combat plans; individual tactics, team formations, squads to prevent and handle protest and riot situations, and improve the ability to coordinate with the police and border guards in patrolling, controlling, handling situations, maintaining security and order... Therefore, the awareness level and combat ability of officers and soldiers in the squad are improved. The results of the annual training content test are good or better, in which the political awareness test is always excellent.

The Bat Mot Commune Militia Squad regularly coordinates with functional forces in ensuring security and order, participating in patrols, protecting border security and sovereignty; coordinating propaganda of the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State. On average, each year, the squad coordinates to organize patrols 27 times/212 participants; effectively preventing and combating the "Peaceful Evolution" plot of hostile forces, resolving complicated cases, disturbing public order, social evils, preventing heresy from entering the area... contributing to firmly protecting border security and sovereignty.
