According to Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, the activities aim to encourage, motivate, commend, honor and show gratitude to journalists and press agencies with outstanding achievements. At the same time, it affirms the deep care and attention of the Party and State for the press; the companionship, support, trust and expectations of the People for the development of Vietnam's revolutionary press. Thereby, fostering and cultivating pride and love for the profession among journalists, contributing to building a team of journalists with increasingly strong political will, professional expertise and professional ethics, and fulfilling the requirement of "Building a professional, humane and modern press and media" according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
The whole province promoted information and propaganda to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Local press agencies created columns and articles about the 100th anniversary of formation and development; introduced the province's press achievements, emphasized the role of the press in local socio -economic development; organized propaganda and visual agitation activities, produced documentaries, articles, interviews, reports, etc.

The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee will organize a meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day; meet and commend outstanding journalists; reward individuals and groups with many contributions to propaganda work. In parallel, there will be activities to visit and congratulate press agencies; display and introduce the achievements of 100 years of Vietnam Revolutionary Press associated with the achievements of the provincial press, and exhibit press photos before liberation. Organize cultural, artistic, physical training and sports activities to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of An Giang Newspaper.

Along with the development of the national press, in recent years, the team of journalists in the province has always adhered to political tasks, grown in all aspects, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks of economic, cultural and social development of the province. “In the period of innovation and integration, the press agencies and journalists in the province have always performed well their functions as both the mouthpiece of the Party and the government and the democratic forum of the people. Thereby, they have promptly and comprehensively informed all developments of political, economic, cultural and social life in the country and the world,” affirmed journalist Tan Van Ngu.
Faced with the global information explosion and the rise of social networks, the province's press agencies, mainly An Giang Newspaper and An Giang Radio and Television, promptly participated in essential social networking platforms; regularly innovated content and form and improved the quality of news and articles; opened specialized pages, columns, programs and programs.
