On the evening of June 1, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House (June 1, 1975 - June 1, 2025) with the theme "Children's House - Where dreams take flight".
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of Young Pioneers; Pham Chanh Truc, former Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ngo Minh Hai, Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union.
The establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House has affirmed the concern and love of the Party Committee, Government and people of Ho Chi Minh City for the work of protecting, caring for,educating and nurturing the young generation, the future owners of the country and the city.
Over 50 years of formation and development, it is a journey of half a century of cultivating the future, tirelessly nurturing intelligence, and giving wings to dreams for generations of children in the city named after beloved Uncle Ho.
At the same time, it is also an affirmation of rising up, demonstrating the will to strive and the desire to develop to fulfill Uncle Ho's will : " Whether Vietnam's mountains and rivers become beautiful or not, whether the Vietnamese people can step up to the stage of glory to stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the five continents or not, depends largely on your studies."
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City leaders always consider "investing in children as investing in the future".
In the context that Ho Chi Minh City is continuing to grow strongly, integrate deeply, with a new stature entering the era of national growth and facing many opportunities but also many intertwined challenges, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has ordered the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House and the system of children's houses in the city to have many important contents.
In particular, continue to maintain, develop, improve the quality, diversify types of activities, pioneer in innovation in education, develop and nurture talents for children, associated with practical requirements in the context of the nation's rising era and the rapid development of science and technology.
"By 2045 - the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, we will have a team of citizens with patriotism and national pride, with knowledge and skills to meet the development requirements of the city in the future," the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee expressed his confidence.
The Ho Chi Minh City Children's House and the system of children's houses in Ho Chi Minh City need to continue to consolidate and strengthen connections with the system of youth activity centers and children's houses in the Southeast cluster; mobilize social resources to expand and spread activities to care for children, in line with the policy of "giving the best to children". At the same time, connect and promote generations of "children" who have grown up and become famous from the "common house".
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized that in the coming time, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City will pay attention to investing in upgrading facilities, expanding creative spaces; diversifying educational, artistic and sports activities; supporting children in difficult circumstances to access a quality learning environment through the establishment of a "Common Scholarship Fund of the City".
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee called on the entire community to join hands to create a collective strength to build the system of children's houses into a creative, modern and friendly educational space. "Let children's houses always be a guiding lighthouse, where every child finds joy in learning and has the opportunity to shine," the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee called.
Previously, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Children's House, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Council Pham Ngoc Tuyen spoke to review the tradition of the 50-year journey of formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City Children's House.
During the ceremony, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, invited guests and children watched a documentary film with the theme "Proud of 50 years of the City Children's House - Where dreams take flight".
In order to recognize the achievements and efforts of the Board of Directors, departments, offices, officers, employees and workers of Ho Chi Minh City Children's House, the Central Council of Young Pioneers and the Standing Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union decided to award the Souvenir Flag, Certificate of Merit, and "For the Younger" Badge to the collective and individuals of Ho Chi Minh City Children's House.
