Emirates Airlines opens new route to Da Nang

Emirates Airlines - the world's leading international airline officially operates the Dubai - Da Nang route with a frequency of 4 flights per week.

On the evening of June 2nd, the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with Emirates Airlines, Da Nang International Airport Terminal Investment and Exploitation Joint Stock Company (AHT), and other relevant units, organized a program to welcome the first flight, EK370, from Dubai to Da Nang (with a layover in Bangkok).

Flight EK370 landed at Da Nang International Airport at 7:50 PM on the same day, carrying 333 international passengers on board a Boeing 777 – a wide-body aircraft offering three classes of service. This was the first flight in Emirates' planned regular operation on the Dubai – Bangkok – Da Nang route, with a frequency of four flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The official launch and opening ceremony for Emirates' new route was held at the International Departure Terminal of Da Nang International Airport. Simultaneously, at the International Arrivals Terminal of Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang City held a welcoming ceremony for the first passengers on the inaugural flight from Dubai.

Immediately after landing, the plane was welcomed with a water cannon salute. Passengers enjoyed a performance of traditional folk art, and were presented with flowers and souvenirs as a warm welcome, demonstrating hospitality and contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang – a safe, friendly, and attractive destination.

Nabil Sultan, Executive Vice President of Passenger Business and Country Management at Emirates, said that the launch of this route is a significant step in Emirates' growth strategy in Southeast Asia, and reinforces the airline's commitment to providing seamless connectivity to support Vietnam's long-term business and tourism goals.

Da Nang City held a ceremony to welcome the first passengers on an Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, further informed that, in order to be ready to welcome tourists from the Middle East and other new high-spending markets, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has coordinated with relevant units to prepare and complete the necessary infrastructure, improve service quality, organize in-depth training, and provide guidance on culture, customs, and service procedures suitable for specific markets, including the Middle Eastern market.

At the same time, we will implement measures to connect and support tourism businesses in exchanging customer sources and developing international markets through this route to promote two-way passenger growth, aiming for sustainable and efficient operation of the route.

From the beginning of 2023, promoting air routes from Dubai was identified by Da Nang City as one of its key priorities. After two years of discussions and promotion, in January 2025, a delegation from Emirates Airlines, led by Mr. Salem Ghanem Al Marri, Director of Flight Planning and Analysis, held a working meeting with the Da Nang City People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant departments and agencies, the Da Nang Airport management agency, and Sun Group. During the visit, the delegation also conducted a field survey in the city and planned the opening of an air route connecting Dubai with Da Nang.

Emirates' launch of a route connecting Dubai and Da Nang, with a layover in Bangkok, officially marks Da Nang's place on Emirates' destination map. Da Nang is also the third destination in Vietnam, after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, in the airline's global network.
