How does Thuy Nguyen build new rural areas to prepare for becoming a city?

Up to now, 35/35 communes have met the model new rural standards in 2024, before Thuy Nguyen district becomes a city. The establishment of synchronous, modern, and closely connected traffic infrastructure is an important stepping stone to create momentum for urbanization development in the district.

The district People's Committee leader said that the total investment capital of the city was 4,300 billion VND (an average of 125 billion VND per commune) to build a model NTM program. Up to now, a total of 662 model NTM projects (phase 2019 - 2024) have been invested, including 560 traffic projects (7 9m roads, 54 7m roads, 208 5.5m roads, 291 3.5m roads); 54educational projects (14 kindergartens, 20 primary schools, 20 secondary schools); 48 cultural projects (village cultural houses).

With the tireless efforts of the district and commune authorities and their solidarity, during the implementation process, 16,013 households donated land to build rural infrastructure with an area of ​​34.6 hectares, including 16.1 hectares of residential land and 18.5 hectares of agricultural land.

It is known that in the period from 2020 to 2023, Thuy Nguyen district will implement the construction of model new rural areas in 25 communes, of which 25/35 communes will meet advanced new rural standards, accounting for 71.4% and 15/35 communes will meet model new rural standards, accounting for 42.9% (25 communes will meet advanced new rural standards; 15 communes will meet model new rural standards.

By 2024, the district will complete 10 communes meeting the model NTM standards and 10 communes meeting the advanced NTM standards, striving to complete 10 communes meeting the advanced NTM standards to reach the model NTM target in 2024.

The construction of the NTM program aims to help rural economic and social infrastructure to be invested in expanding and upgrading in a synchronous and modern direction; contributing to fundamentally changing the face of the countryside. In particular, the commune's infrastructure in terms of transportation, culture and education has been significantly improved.

The political system in rural areas has been strengthened and consolidated, democracy has been promoted, contributing significantly to ensuring social security, safety and security of the city. Income and material and spiritual life of people in rural areas have continued to improve, and people's production level has been improved.

Attracting businesses has initially been effective, many businesses and organizations and individuals have been interested in investing in agriculture and rural development, especially in developing high-tech applications. Developing satellite households to participate in linking export and consumption of products associated with building brands with traceability of origin has been focused on and developed effectively.

Since the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction in the period of 2021 - 2025, transitioning to the period of 2016 - 2020 (2020), the rural appearance of Thuy Nguyen district has changed comprehensively, especially in terms of infrastructure, facilities, landscape, and environment; the rural economy has developed quite well with a progressive and effective form of production organization; the economic structure has shifted clearly and effectively; the material and spiritual life of rural people has been improved, and living conditions have been more secure.

People increasingly enjoy more public utilities and services and are cared for better and better; political security and social order are ensured, society is peaceful; cadres at all levels and in all sectors are increasingly mature and more responsible to the people.

With the motto "close to the people, by the people, for the people", the district and commune authorities have done a good job of propaganda to create consensus and high unanimity among the people to carry out the task of site clearance, relocation of architectural objects and crops on schedule; support and create conditions for construction contractors; ensure the overall progress of the project.

The District Project Management Board closely coordinated with the construction contractor and the supervision consultant to promptly implement the project, ensuring technical and quality standards, traffic safety, environmental sanitation, and completion on schedule.
